The old couple who lived 2 doors up had a good vine in their homemade “conservatory” . When the next owners took the vine down they found it was holding the building up!

Finished the locating devices for the castors on the lift.
Also got the quick release hydraulic coupler fitted.
And the Brucie bonus was the oil burner got a wash.
Plants will be back in the garage tonight too.

Like the quick release coupling, where did you source them from, got a link?
A friend I used to work with gave me it Col but this is what you need,
If it’s the same as mine you’ll need a double male 1/4 BSP union too.

Oil drainer modified. I found that because I couldn't "anchor" the bottom of the drain tube in the tank the pan and tube had a bit of movement due to the flexing of the top of the tank.
I decided therefore to anchor the top of the tube using some plywood and using the original 4 self tappers in the tank flange.
With the tube removed and cap fitted you can pick it up and pour contents into another drum for disposal.

Think it will be stable enough, what you can't see is that the straight downpipe has another pipe inside it that stiffens it all up, the oil should drain pretty quick from the elevated pan via the bath plug hole and into the catch tank. Currently building my version after seeing what Tony did but planning on using a metal tank.
It will never be full Dawn. The oil leaves the engine through (roughly) a 14mm dia. hole, the drain tube is 36mm ID so it will discharge into the tank quicker than it can collect in the pan? At least that’s what my logic tells me.
By the way the oil pan and pipe weighs 500g and the tank/castors etc. weight 9.6 kg. Time will tell.

Been busy today too Ken. I put off top coating the bench today to make my old mate Ken a bird table. He lost his wife a few weeks ago and when he called for a cuppa and a natter he enjoyed watching all the birds coming to ours so I said I would make him one. Refixed a curtain pole in the back bedroom too, no end to my talents.
Oh, and weight tested the drainer as well.

In the pan are a 5ltr. and 2 x 1ltr. containers filled to the brim (I know that because I filled them) so in total there will be 7.5 ltr. minimum (the pan is 6ltr. capacity so will never have this much oil in it). Water has a density of 1g/cc. making 1 ltr. of water weigh 1kg. Oil is slightly less dense that water because it floats on top of water (just) so I would estimate 7kg in the pan showing no sign of destabilising the drainer even when moving it across the floor.
It's been many years in the dark and dingy past since I did Physics at Grammar School so if I got some details wrong please correct me
