Ive seen these fit on a blue car in two combinations
One Chrome Shadow Silver: A56 (the oem colour for M Coupe) and another with Decor Silver I: A55. Both were great in their own way.
the first one was a mean lowered 2.8 in dark blue and the chrome had a nice contrast with the blue calipers and the second was a chrome loaded one (a pillar, side grille, door handles) and matched perfectly with the wheels.

They had a nice dark anthracite in a gloss that I've gone with. Its roll of the dice but my thinking was black might look off against cosmos black as cosmos has got a tinge to it. black wheels might make the car look less black if that makes sense... Its all just a bit of fun any way.

It's been a while since I've had the welder fired up. I cut the jack point out and welded in 2mm steel. If I am honest I've done prettier jobs but it's rock solid now.. Upside-down welding on Axel stands sucks haha.

More powdercoated goodness.. I am just waiting on new engine mounts arriving and I'll start building the front end. I am going to instal toyo Tr1s on the wheels, as that's what I run on my e30 and I can't fault them for wet grip. Something that's a must in Scotland. In the mean time a sneaky look at the wheels. Ignore the picky 1/4 panel for now. Top side rebuild will be phase 2

Productive day today. I got the hand brakes adjusted properly and finally replaced to bolts of doom. I knocked an inch of the ride height of the BCs as the last time it was on all 4s it was a little too high.
I then sorted out a patch for the rear jacking point and went daft with under sealer.

I am not sure what I am going to do with the top side yet as the posts on rebodys has my interest but I might just wide body it but whilst I decide I've tarted up the side skirts to tide me over whilst I make up my mind.

A proper pain in the a$$ trying to weld here with the car on Axel stands but it's rock solid now.

I didn't grind back the welds as they will be behind the side skirts.

I've managed to get INPA up and running on windows 10. The car had an ABS warning like and a battery light on when I get it home. The ABSs sensors had seen better days, so they've been replaced. Not so sure about the 113 code, ABS feed back pump. It would be ashame to replace it if the code was caused by something else. The code 108 about permanent power supply. Could that just be that the battery has sat flat for a number of years?

Nice and shiny parts. I did think about doing the sump and bottom end bearings whilst the subframe was out but I think I am going to change the engine even if its just for another m44. My mate has a 75kmile engine in his shed. It'll be phase 2 though after I get it road legal again

More nessecity for me. She's bleeding oil from the sump. Only tidy way of getting there is subframe off but that's not for me me to worry about. I just supply the bits.

Not sure I'd attempt it even with a garage so well done for getting so far with yours.

Any thoughts on wheels?

I was wanting to hold off from looking at the sill on the drivers side until I could get the car turned round but I decided I'd under seal the arch before sticking the coilovers in etc. I removed the splash guard and came across Uncle fester here.

I had a bit of a poke and this is what I am left with

Ideally I would have replace the sill on this side but it seems bmw no long make the panel. I find it crazy they still have most e30 panels but not sills for a z3.

What they do have is the end cap and I've got one on route for £5.50... perfect
