That don't look very stable Col.;) What did you use to allow air out of your drainer please? I'm thinking of using a 1" rubber tyre valve glued into the top and remove the Schrader valve and just fit a cap on it. What did you think to moving the lift on a trolley jack? So much easier to pull/push it around.

Yes it looks a bit unstable, seems a bit overkill with all the height ranges on it.
With your set of wheels you made up the trolly jack looks up to the job, however I would mod the handle maybe make it a bit longer and add a T-bar as a handle on it and make it a secure fit in the jack so there is no danger of it pulling out when your pulling it. My lift stays in the garage small drive I have has a gentle slope so don't think I would use it outside. Reckon it will take some pushing back in even with the wheels, heavy bit of kit.
 
You’re dead right mate, fairly heavy item. My drive has only enough slope to run rain water to the gulley. I agree regarding the “Tee” handle and I’m on the look out for something to do that. In all honesty I will likely be shifting the lift outside on a Shed day where, hopefully” I will have some help. Being 64 has its drawbacks.;)

Opps forgot about the air bleed response, as mine is a metal can was thinking of putting a lever ball tap valve as used in plumbing in the lid. Metal tyre valve with the core removed also considered, since your tank is plastic maybe the rubber tyre valve would be the way to go.
 
Been thinking mate, a couple of bits of 3 x 2 and sheet of ply and there’s a height adjustable bed!

Sorted the air bleed for the oil drain used a tyre valve cut from a motorcycle inner tube fitted to lid of the can secured in place using the metal valve retainer, core taken out and fitted a metal valve cap as the seal, just take it off when in use.

Almost great minds think alike Col.
I went to where I used to work and scrounged the shortest tubeless valve they have (1"), took the valve out drilled a 11.5mm hole in the drum above the main cap. I got a piece of wire and bent the end to stop the valve sliding off the end. I pushed the end of the wire out through the 11.5mm hole ready.
Applied CA glue to the rubber and a spray of accelerator to the drum. Then pulled the valve up through the hole and screwed on a metal valve extension to which I attached a pair of grips and pulled the valve rubber through the side of the drum. Removed the extension and the piece of wire and job done.

Knocked up a wooden cradle for my version of the oil drainer, put some wheels on it as Tony suggested, quick and dirty spray paint and its now ready for its first oil change job. All the bits used from my stash in the garage.

I made a start Dave, I power washed some panels to get the green off them. Once they’re dry I can then consider starting to think about wondering if I should paint them.;)=))
