You reckon 'ole 2 jags would notice mate?=))

Tony.

Think to buy one from Dyson spares would probably be expensive, but I’ll look 👀 n the net see if anything else comes close if you haven’t looked already. Wish I was there to help you make this. Thought about a container that would fit in between your garage wall insets. Square down pipe guttering 3-4 together could fit without sticking out too far, could maybe link a few insets. All plastic which you can stick or home weld to get sealed. Just another thought.

You could try Espares for it Tony, they often sell Dyson parts - either genuine and after market.

I think I'm getting a good idea for this. I'll get a drawing put together. Cheers fellas.

Would the large adblue containers be any good as they have a screw on filler neck , an then just dispose of the the whole thing,

Spurred on by your garage pictures decided it was time to upgrade my lighting, got rid of the old flourescent tubes that I had from work some 20years ago when they had new lighting and replaced with 4ft LED strip lights. Cheap Chinese units off ebay but UK seller so they arrived in a few days. Amazing improvement over the old tubes, ordered 4 more for £28 to complete the upgrade.

Much better light Col, like daylight. Was useful yesterday as our Gary and I made and built a hat, coat and shoe cupboard for one of his customers. Built up his new shop vacc. and tested it out.

Do you have a link for the ones you bought? Thanks

As to a home made oil drain can with an adjustable drain tube and top funnel catch tray, seeing your gas heater in the garage pictures got me thinking of repurposing and old gas cylinder, shouldnt be too much of a problem to make an extending drain tube and a catch tray on the end of it. Drain tap fitted in the base to decant old oil into used oil container for transprt to the dump for recycling.

I have 8 spare 6ft fittings just ready for LED tubes, my tubes were £11 each

I'm not buying anything just looking, these are similar to what I have now but with the cover over the LED's and are a lot slimmer.

Made some progress on an oil drainer today.

Waiting on a mate finding me an opaque 5 gallon drum.

Been thinking along the same lines myself, was only looking at drain pans on ebay the other evening. I take it the self tappers on the drain pipe stiffens the joints up? Can see the sense in using a decent container that can be used to transport the waste to the tip negating the need to decant into something else. Where did you source the black pipe and joints, not seen them, just white last time I looked.

@colb , hey mate, I got the fittings from B&Q in Lincoln. There are 2 types of fittings, push-in (with "O" rings) or Solvent (glue up) For 40mm ID the push-in is 41mm OD and the solvent type is 43mm OD. I've used "push-in" fittings and I bought a 1M length of the tube here, 1M, Black, Push-in.

At B&Q the 135 deg. elbows were about £1.10 each and the sink plug kit was £5.30. The drain pan was £5.99 on eBay a Silverline item,

I used 1/8" pop rivets to secure the joints. I intend to add a thicker piece of plastic to the side of the drum to stiffen it where the tube goes through the side. I'll update that as and when.

Looking great Tony, you'll be taking bookings soon;)

Not if you put the bathroom light on mate ................................ ;)=))=))

Tony.

ps. I did think about using Grump's drain tray but you know how that went .
