I need to this little job too Roy;)
Only reason it got done so early Dave is I’m looking to get ahead so if things get anywhere near back to normal I should get more Z time.
This was bought back from the States 3yrs ago by my family and they asked me if I’d put it up yet, so I’ve just been round my lockup to put it up just inside the door, now if they come round I’m in the crear.

was going to donate it to @t-tony Mid ZShed but now Ive had to put it up. It’s stamped into sheet metal.

I thought this would be appreciated. But then, after dinner, this!

I had carpet and glue left so,
Anyway late morning made an Appointment to view the lift at 11.00 in the morning.
Decided on a move around and made a start shifting the tall cupboard to the end of the bench.

With the room next to the Z, I can store my trolley, shop vacuum and table saw when folded so the oil burner can live inside (it was covered in frost this morning).

I saw a man about a dog this morning and he gave me these.

After lunch I spent the afternoon finding new homes for all the stuff which got displaced during yesterday's "move round".
The whole point of this was to make enough room to get both cars inside when it's likely to freeze on Sunday night/Monday morning so it doesn't need de-icing for the early shopping expedition. With having 28" between the ramps and the wall I can store stuff down there leaving space for the Eos.

Penty of room for trolley, shop vacc. etc. and enough room to get in and out easily.

Very little room for working though.

Tony.

ps. Lift delivery confirmed for Saturday morning.

Wow!!!!!!!! You really have had the bit between your teeth. Would buy that bungalow and garage tomorrow if it came up for sale. Wish I’d bought the last one. Great to see you’ve got both vehicles in there even though the Eos doesn’t really need to be in there. ( but don’t tell Shirl I said that. Lol) love the way you got the Hoover etc out the way. Well done mate.

Riy.

Last bit of Axminster stuck to the wall this afternoon, should give door protection at any height the door is at.

Nice touch with the carpet protector on the walls, must sort my garage out having seen what you have been doing the Z3 lives in mine sitting over the scissor lift like yours will, keeps company with the Honda Deuville motorbike, bench at the end and the one on the side could do with a good clear, storage shelves and under bench storage could also do with a good sort out, why do I keep all this stuff that will never get used? Just renewed my pressure washer the other day as the old one was on its way out, actually left the old one out for the scrap man to pick up when he passes. New airline hose also on its way as old ones rubber covering is all breaking off.

And, FINALLY, it's here. It wasn't too hard to get out of the van with help from our neighbour John (Z3 owner) 2 doors up. Other John, David and me.
Soon had it between the ramps.

You get a really good selection of lifting pads and risers, with some other ramps you have to buy "extra" ones.

Anyway, there was one more thing to do before trying the lift, and that was to make a cut out in the bottom of the left ramp to allow the hydraulic hose and stop release cable to pass underneath. You can see it in some of these pictures.

Even with the ramp at this level the garage door will still open and close.

Dead chuffed with it.

Tony.

ps. Many thanks to Paul Rice for coming to give us a lift but it was out of the van when he arrived.

Excellent and Snap have got mine the opposite way around always drive on to mine but can reverse onto it if needed. Lifts the Z3 and Z4 very well saves lying down and getting up when working on the car. Have put the wifes Suzuki Alto on there but have to keep an eye on how high I lift that with the roof cross braces above.
I also marked the centre of the wheels with a felt marker on the ramps for the Z3 and Z4 to aid positioning so the lifting arms pull out to the jacking points without having to faff about getting them in the ideal position.

Well that’s it then mate, time for a mechanical rest and get on with them domestic jobs Shire’s been waiting for. Lmao.
Looks like all that hard work has paid off and the Midland Z shed is ready for a party. Hat off to you cos when you get started on something it allways turns out real good. ( when can you come down and help me finish building my Ferrari 488 GTE.) Petrol heads LEGO jigsaw.

No rest here pal, the oil burner needs new front brakes and 1 or 2 rear wheel bearings. I can hear them humming but not sure what the tune is yet:thumbsup:

Well at least you will be able to do the brakes and bearings in some comfort with the new lift, I use a small camping stool to sit on with the car on the lift which makes it comfortable to work from, no more kneeling down or scrambling up and down.
