Eloctrolysis mate. Mine were in absolutely awful condition. After putting them in the eloctrolysis tank they came out really, really nice. Then some POR 15 and they look like new.

I think there's some big blue plastic water containers in the allotment behind my garden haha. Might borrow one...

@Antm72 when you did your fuel tank straps do you need to support the tank with a Jack? Mine's quite full of fuel.
I had about half tank when I removed mine, the tank has one bolt and that was plenty to hold the weight, I got my straps powder coated

@Sean d and I said that my beam bushes were easier to remove than the trailing arm ones... How wrong was I!

I think im going to have to use my jigsaw to cut two slots in as the hacksaw just isnt quick enough
May be that this is too late, but when you do the cutting go either side of the dimples in the beam, otherwise you'll still be trying to push the bush over them, and they stick out/in enough to get in the way.

In the videos I’ve seen they have used a battery charger for the power source. In your photo the painted part is the sacrificial part with the positive lead attached? If so great but I wonder if the paint will interfere with the process.
It worked great that time. Bug possibly it could interfere.
The charger I have is a smart charger so it says fault if you try and use if for this purpose :(
I've used a wire brush and got the majority of the rust off. The other one wasn't quite as bad. They painted and drying now.

VERY HAPPY
Long update......

Few weeks ago I started on tank straps, used electrolysis to get from these

Then a few coats of paint, to these, well I only have a pic of 1 done but they both look great.

I had an afternoon last weekend when I went mad and decided to refit all panels.
Headlights, washer system, front wings, front liners, side skirts (unpainted), rear wings, boot lid.

Today was the big day. Rear end was going in. Got a few mates round and after a bit of carry on we got it in..... Yay!
However, diff bush and diff bracket were maybe 2mm out of alignment. Not to worry, managed to get it in so the welding was pretty much in the right place.
Everything fitted and connected but 1 last issue.
The inner sleeves of the beam bushes are still too long I think.

I did cut about 10mm from them but I think they need more. @Sean d
I'm thinking if I take those brackets off and try and wiggle the inner sleeve down, I can use a cutting disc and trim another 3/4mm off.
Also are the brackets on the bottom the correct way? I think they are.

Then the last issue, rear beam is fitted in place and the drive shaft doesn't reach the input coupling on the diff...1 bolt is poking through but other 3 aren't. Am I missing something here cause I can't think?

I didn't get a pic of it all fitted I was too excited.

Very very happy man.

Mine is done too, going back in Tuesday, slightly worried about bleeding the brakes but everything else should bolt up quite nicely. Did you put the large bush at the top or bottom of the beam?

I'm a bit worried about that too as I've made mostly new lines so will have to check for many leaks.
Thicker bit at the bottom. I put the washer at the bottom too but no idea.

Dave, I cut the sleeve to the length of the bush and then took ten mm off it, washer at the top

I'm sure I asked ya and you said yours didn't come with a washer lol. So it's all got to come back out again
