My Z4................... My way.

Some excellent tips for me here. The headlight bulbs and boot lights being a good starting point. They're already on my list. I'm looking forward to meeting other Z4 owners at VanityBMW in July, to see the modifications they are making to their Z4's.

That's great v.f.m Tony :thumbsup:, less than half what I paid for Powerflex but then I didn't need a press to get them fitted.
You'll feel a difference once they're on.

I could've gone for Powerflex for mine Steve but they were £53 on eBay. Wondering what to lubricate them with when I press then into the housings. Have sent a message to Duraflex, waiting on a reply now.

With the ones I had there was a sachet of silicon grease, seemed the same as the stuff you use on brake parts.
 
Glad all worked out Tony, I pressed mine in once they are started they pop in no issues. As said tightened up and transformed the front of my zed so worth the effort and at the cost they come at it's not a big expense.

I like there prices compared to Powerflex, but no listing for the Z3 I suppose you pick and mix from the E30 rear and E36 front?

I would give then a call Mark and see what they say. @Antm72 has got his from this supplier.

I brought front anti roll bar and lower front rear bushes came to about £30 plus postage. The bushes for the arms list as E36:thumbsup:

the grease costs £33, it's 'free' with powerflex ones
 
Yes, I know you get a sachet of grease with power flex ones but I don't happen to have any knocking about. I do however have some for brake rubber lubricant and will likely use that.

ps. In the end I just used some Silicon spray to lubricate the mounts and the bushes, like Ant said, once they started going into the mounts they popped straight in.

Had some spare time one snowy day last week and got the new bushes pressed into the housings.

Has certainly sharpened up the steering but the downer is that I couldn't get it tracked because the legs won't go between the rear tyres and arches. Will have to wait until I get new tyres on my 108s and can refit them.:(
Tramlining virtually non-existent now:thumbsup:. I found a good way to remove the old bushes too. I removed the 2 bolts which hold the mounting to the chassis rail, pulled the arm down and wedged a block of wood between the arm and chassis. Then screw the 2 bolts back into their holes all the way by hand, you can then use a bar located on the first bolt head to lever the bush half way off the arm, then move the bar to the second bolt head to lever it all the way off. Remove the bolts, lightly lubricate the poly bush and after making sure it's aligned correctly push it on to the arm. Then bolt the mounting to the chassis ensuring the dowels locate into the housings.

Nice one mate, like you say it does sharpen up the steering.
After I did mine it felt terrible on rough roads and tram lined although it didn't do that before.
After the tracking was done though, it felt spot on and no tram lining.
 
And speaking of 108s, these have landed.

This set is rare in that you do get a set of 20 to fit the 17mm wheel bolts not 16 + 4 for the round locking bolts for VAG cars.

There is no maker's logo on them so they're plain on the end and do take paint well.

These will either be Satin black or "chrome" silver. Not sure yet. Bargain at £3.60.

Are these the drop links that you've done @t-tony??
Lee suggested to finish mine off it could do with front and rear drop links and a new anti roll bar as mine has corroded.

No mate. These are front lower arm rear mounting bushes, called "lollipops" on a Z3 I believe.

Yeah same company fitted lollipop bushes and anti roll bar bushes.
The drop links are something different Dave just brought rears from the german site both cost less than one here may be worth alook :thumbsup:
 
Couple of little jobs this week. Front splitter removed, the snow and ice did that for me in reality, but a little kiss on a kerb near Leicester last Friday finished the job.

Last Sunday one of the Osram Nightbreaker bulbs I fitted 2 1/2 years ago failed so I ordered these, the upgraded ones £18.50. fitted yesterday.

Haven't had a chance to try them out in the dark yet but if the new ones are a genuine improvement I'll be very happy.
Lastly, job's a good un!! Guess what I did today.

And Yes, with flying colours. Apart from advising a front A/roll bar drop link boot. A job for another day and best of all it was free !
