Talking at cross purposes here Tony, but that'll do nicely. Cheers @Antm72 your right on the ball.

So glad it's not the facelift lake fish pie.=))=))=)) Pmsl.
Last years Lake fish still in the freezer mate, keeping it just for you !!;) Anyway, this year's sweet treat has been decided on and after doing extensive research I'm 1/2 a stone heavier and I hope you all appreciate my sacrifice !;)

Like the daylight running lights @t-tony and the boot likes too. Might have to do the boot light mod first. I parked in a multi storey where I work and it's dark so these would be ideal. Do I search for anything in particular with regards to their connection?

Likewise with the running lights, have you wired them into the sidelights?

I wired the DRLs into the dip beam circuit mate, that way you can run with them on sidelights. When you go to dip beam the DRLs dim down to sidelight brightness. I have just posted tonight that I have a set of the white led strips for the boot for sale at £20 if they're of interest to you?

Hi Danny, sorry I missed this bit when I read the post. I connected the LED strips into the original boot light wiring, also the red LED strips too. Was a little fiddly to do but I have found some great items on the net which I've used on the latest upgrade. Posting tomorrow.:)

Latest upgrade came together this week after the parts were sourced in Orlando in the spring.
335.jpg

I removed the two under dash panels and took out the original foot well lights and attached the light strips to the under panels as far back as needed so they couldn't be seen when sitting in the car. I was going to use double sided 3M tape but as the strips are silicone based (for flexibility) nothing will stick to them (lesson learned). In the packaging you get four "U" shaped plastic guides which I screwed to the panels as shown then slid the strips into place. A cordless drill and a 1.5mm drill bits used to make the screw holes.

Repeat for other panel.;)
I decided that I needed to make these easily removable for access to items behind the dash etc. so I sourced some 2-pin plug and socket connectors from eBay which needed to be spliced into the original foot well light wiring.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-3-5-10-or-20-Pairs-JST-Plug-and-Socket-connectors-Pre-Wired-150mm-leads-2-pin/272854207929?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&var=572008433189&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Tools required for the job included my butane powered soldering iron, wire strippers, heat gun, shrink tubing, the connectors and some insulation tape.
004.jpg

The male part of the connector was joined onto the cable of the LED strips by soldering and shrink tubing the joins.

037.jpg

Meanwhile, inside the car the female part of the connector was spliced into the original foot well light wiring. First remove the binding on the two wires and using a test light found out which one is the power wire. (in my car it was the red/blue one, the brown wire was earth).
042.jpg

Using the wire strippers part the cable insulation on the power wire to leave a gap where you wind the bared end of the connectors red wire. Then melt solder over this join and after it has cooled bind with a couple of laps of tape. Next do the earth wire and join the black wire of the connector the same way but don't tape it up just yet. (apologies for quality in some of the pictures:()
043.jpg

Now get your pre-wired panel and plug in the connector to make sure you have the polarity correct (LED's are polarity sensitive)
049.jpg

Once you're happy that the LEDs illuminate you can tape up the earth cable splice and refit the under dash panel being careful to tidy any spare cable up and leaving the original light connections through to refit the foot well lights in their respective hole (minus bulbs!).
When complete it should look something like this,

............. and later, after dark, something like this. :)

I still need to replace to dome light bulbs with some blue lights, a job for tomorrow.

Excellent write up Tony and the blue light is very subtle .
I have a blue light bulb in my interior light but it sends my eyes funny when it comes on in the dark :wacky:.
Still not fitted those footwell lights I bought from you ages ago .
