Tested the system and (touch wood) no leaks found, so hopefully it will be providing ice cold air :D

Just in time for the rainy season =))

Yeah looks like your going to need it over the next week, your probably better putting the hardtop on :arghh:

I’ve been know to have the aircon blowing roof down, nobody likes a sweaty roadster driver :coolsteer)

Unfortunately the aircon system wasn’t able to hold pressure :( So no ice cold air for me.
Going to leave it, as I’ll probably be chasing my tail trying to find where the leak is.

Most AC gas has a dye included Jim. You should be able to see a leak using UV light and goggles.

Tony.

So it was a fairly wet day today and the misses b******* off with her friends and that left me some time to ‘tinker’ :D

I previously made a sub enclosure utilising the space between the roll hoops and used a JL Audio 6w3v3 sub. It’s good and very happy with it, but as I have 2 Zeds it just meant swapping it between them both - as I’ve upgraded the audio in both.

So around Xmas I found sourced a JL audio 8w3v3 sub, which I thought I could fit. I started to build another enclosure and then left the project as the depth of the 8” sub was too much, and I needed time to consider options.

Well I had to enlarge the mounting lid, both in terms of width and height. I had fun shaping the lid with my orbital sander.

Ohhhh not much room at the bottom of the magnet

The enclosure I gave the inside a quick rattle can of satin black and then covered with acoustic carpet.

The lid I covered in some black leather.

Quite happy with the end result.

Just got to order a sub mesh grill and all sorted

Now both my Zeds have a sub each at last!

Very productive day...... just not sure the misses would think so =))

He put some dye in but couldn’t see anything. Will give it a couple of days and see if I see anything.

Picked Blue up today after having the front bumper, passenger door and wing mirror painted.

Looking good in the sun :thumbsup:

Looks almost pearlescent, and loving the wheel colour.

Looking good Jim!

Tony.

Blue has felt quite sluggish for a while and since using faaaarrrrr to much petrol on the Scotland run this year I decided to see if any fault codes came up.

There was only 1 code and that was for the Camshaft sensor, with a permanent fault after several resets. So purchased a new one from BMW, as couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of a ‘potentially dodgy’ or short life aftermarket one.

Had it fitted today and Blue is like a completely different car
So responsive and now pulls like a train from the off. Needless to say I’m happy and now looking forward to a weekend hooning around Wales

Well Blue is out of hibernation. Battery off the charger and back in the boot, key in and starts up first time :D

Even better as there wasn’t a drop of oil or liquid on the garage floor :)

If you don’t mind. I’ll then get the current fitted ones refurbished.

Hmm just pinging in, but I'd LOVE my subframe refurbed as well -- could we imagine having yours refurbed, fitted onto mine, and have mine refurbed for the Next Guy?

I don't know what I'm taking about, but it seems to have worked for a few other parts like calipers and stuff so it might make sense?

Know what your saying, but the ones I’ll be taking off will be refurbished and ready to go on my other Zed - whenever I get round to it
