Be really interested to see how you get on with the wrap,I'm trying to sort out the M before doing that.i don't want to be messing with mechanical stuff after it's done, it's surprising how much rust there is when you go deeper than just a polish

That was a big benefit of having my car decontaminated by Sean at F5detailing. He had all the undercarriage shields and inner wheel arcs off the car to facilitate steam cleaning and took pics of everything for me (156) that showed there was no rust on the car anywhere. Happy Dance when I got that news!! JIM

Following on from the discussion about suspension and coilovers, thought I would give this set a go. Proper update later this evening all being well

Not planning on "slamming it" because of the speed bumps where I live at the moment, just looking for a nice stance. This set was only £65 more than a pair of standard Sachs front shock absorbers which Rosie so desperately needed. Going to grab some new shock top mounts from GSF while I'm at it.

BBS Style 108's 18". Been on my wanted list for some time now and this set came up for £225. Almost mint condition bar a snall nick in one where the paint is cracked. Came with almost new rears and at leat 3-4mm on the front.

More pictures later :)

I've had the current wheels about 4 years now and just needed a change. I had 3 sets of wheels on my wish list and these were 2nd place. The first place wheels just wouldn't fit and the other choice were almost impossible to find at a reasonable price. I would never have chosen these in this colour scheme but they were just too cheap to pass on - and I can always refurb the centres later on if I get bored.

As for going boy racer, you should see what I have planned for the future... :D

Spacers are required on the fronts and rear, just need to decide on what size. Probably 5-10 on the from and 15-20 on the rear.

Those are nice wheels on a Z3, looks good Gaz. Not spotted often.

Black centers are polarizing but I know what you mean about needing a change of wheels, good to build a collection!
Keeping the Breytons for winter? Can't imagine these splits will like our salt, you saw what winter did to my dishes!

Are the lips lacquered? If not the I can highly recommend White Diamond aluminum polish, it's what the wheel guys told me to use now my dishes are bare, works well even by hand, awesome shine with a drill.

Get some pics up when she's clean and with the hood down!

The 78's are hopefully being collected on Monday, and the Breytons are up for sale. Already got someone chatting me up over them, but failing that they are going on eBay and so on.

They should be good for the winter as they are a really good painted finish - not polished. I will need to get the damaged area fixed somehow as it will start lifting once the water gets underneath the paint. Hopefully then lashings of a decent wheel sealant will get them through OK??!?!?

That's good about the painted finish (vs lacquered aluminium) should be fine through winter, just touch up chips of course.
It's lacquered aluminium that's a pain in UK - as soon as the lacquer is broken the corrosion begins and doesn't stop (bare aluminium reacts instantly with air I believe).
Maybe something to keep the bolts protected, a grease or something so they don't corrode when muck gets in there.

Really like these wheels, and a bargain price too, used wheels really can be a bargain if you patient, also explains why our 78's sell for a whole lot less than what we think they should, I only got offers around £200 when I though about selling mine, no wonder when you can get wheels like this with tyres for similair!

Going too be very nice when spaced, makes such a difference.

You didn't buy them, you stole them.
It's watching the market over a few years really. A set of these, in this condition 12-18 months ago would have been about £5-600 as the Z4 boys fought over them. I guess they have gone off them a little, and CSL style seems more in fashion for them now. Means the bottom has dropped out the market for this style, and they guy I bought them from has been advertising them for ages.
