One step forwards, one step backwards as they say... Drivers door handle has just broken and wont open the door, have to reach through the passenger side and pull the internal handle! Ho hum, another thing to the list...

Step Forwards - Cruise Control fitted. Process exactly as per @Brian H's article, so thank you for that sir!

Doesn't seem to be any visual indicator on the instrument panel that it's on, but works fine on a test drive. Looking at the picture I better head back out and tidy that loose bit of rubber I didn't tuck back under

Here in SA it's a must have.... distances are greater than UK and the opportunity for 100's of kms of cruising are abundant. Nothing like using CC and putting the feet up...;)

I'm not going to tell you how long I've had a P0369 error code on Rosie. It's been some time. OK, it's had a P0369 fault code on it since I bought her. Initially I changed the inlet cam sensor and that allowed the code to be cleared, but it would return within a few days. At the time that sensor was just under £100, and the cam exhaust sensor about the same price. I was skint and couldn't afford it so left it. Like all things you don't get around to straight away you kind of forget. For 3 years. :bag:

I'm planning on getting Rosie dyno'd in the next week or so, and as I'm earning regularly now I though I would invest £80 or so on a new cam exhaust sensor. No sense in a power run if you know the engine is displaying a fault code!

Fitted it this evening, and I have to say I'm kicking myself I didn't do it sooner. The car is so much more lively between 4k and the redline, but generally the engine idle is quieter and revs through the range a little easier. I now no longer have a flat spot at 4k. The other thing as well is that the revs drop off quicker than they did. Several engine restarts and the code hasn't come back - can't remember how many times it took to come back before but I'll leave my code reader plugged in for the next week to check.

This is the old sensor and O ring. The new sensor was a slightly different shape. Check when you order one that you specify a new O ring, Sopers say they normally come with one but mine didn't. They did post me one FOC first class to rectify the issue.

On the M54 engine it's literally at the front of the engine, and held in with one bolt. 10 minutes tops - the new O ring can be awkward to get in place.

I changed my inlet sensor on the Z3 a while back and it was incredible how much better the motor ran. A good investment mate.:)
