I like the idea of the if the rear camera.
How did you mount it and run the wiring? The curved top on the deflector is quite nice too. We met before Santa Pod Dave, if for whatever reason you don't fit your dash bits and they are repairable can you drop me a PM if you decide to move them on.

Yes mate it was a brief meeting unfortunately as we had to get going. The camera just sticks to the wind deflector and the wiring goes down between the hoop and deflector and into the bolt access panel, then routed through into the centre console and connected to the head unit power. I've actually started refurbishing the panels the last few days and I am having a bit of trouble at the moment as the leather has shrunk more than I thought. I will get them done somehow though and they will be going in the car at some point I think.
I noticed you have Schnitzer hoops also, did the rubber o rings you have at the bottom of them come with the hoops or are they ones you have put on yourself? Mine has some but yours looked neater.

The rubber washers look neater as they have flat bases. I didn't want to use the regular round ones so I searched around for these. I got them from toolstation... They are in the plumbing section and are about a quid. They are as close to what would have been fitted originally as you're going to get...Yeah, I know the leather on those dash bits are notorious for shrinkage in the sun.. I've changed my interior from tannin red to Dream red, I was offered those dash bits ages ago but at the time they didn't match tannin as they were a lot brighter. .. S*ds law as now I've swapped to Dream red
anyway if you change your mind or see any more then give me a nudge.
I'm not that fussed about dropping tyre pressures and stuff for 0.3 of a second. If the run I did against him was on a street it wouldn't matter, I crossed the line first
That's all that matters when your side by side and tear off at the traffic lights, no one is standing down the road with a stop watch and a statistics sheet. When that light hits green it's first to the finish no matter what the time is!

Mine are also flat and I think they are originals but they have slits in them to allow them to be stretched over and look like they may snap at some point so I prefer the look of the ones you have. I don't actually know what colour they are, I think they are tannin as they don't look bright enough for dream red. They have some burgundy in which go well with the roof, but I'm thinking of dying the seats as well so unsure whether to go for tanin or imola, so I'll do these at the same time. Tanin is a better match for the roof but imola is the correct colour for the seats and console so I'm undecided yet!
I personally don't street race nor do I condone it. The only way to know the best car is side by side on a drag strip where it's safe and controlled. But hey, do your own thing. I never mentioned anything about us doing this sort of thing on the street?!
I was saying it as an example of if this was to happen on a street, just like a scene out of any car film.
I also leave this type of thing for the drag strip. I don't condone street racing either
Thanks for clarifying that point. I didn't mean for any of this to sound condescending was just making a few suggestions. Last year @ Twin Turbo was looking to better his times and I tried to give him some pointers and knowing you have a friendly family competition on going thought I might help. Hope you weren't insulted! JIM
I recently bought the kit to do this. the lock out kit was about £25 and the seals with gaskets another £20. If all goes smoothly I'll post the kit to you.
Not much done recently, got some carbon vinyl to wrap the badges in a different colour. Both front, rear, wheels and steering wheel have been done. Just something a little different to the black/white carbon ones I've had for a while. The silver carbon matches up with the paintwork nicely.
And redone the stealth DRL's in the blanks next to the fog lights. I put some heat shrink over the connections at the back this time so I didn't short them out like the last ones. Fitted 3 each side in total, stripped them down so they have no holders and are just the LED so I could flush fit them into the blanks. Then a couple of layers of matt tint film over the top to hide and protect them. You wouldn't know they are there unless you were looking.
Hopefully I'll get the forte engine flush in this week and give it an oil and filter change. And next Tuesday it's booked in for a remap.

Looks very cool Dave. Do you have a link to the LEDs please mate. I have a cunning plan in the works which needs some single LEDs.

I usually put in the night before, then run into work (12 miles or so) Dave. The rep told us that he has run it for a couple of days but I don't see the need myself. They have recently altered the formula too so I would follow the instructions on the bottle mate. Have you done the manifold mod. Let us know how the re-map goes.

I'll follow the bottle then. Manifold was done earlier in the year. Should be getting a road dyno with live stats first, then the remap, then a road dyno with stats after so will hopefully see what it was producing before and after the remap.
Be good to see the results. I've booked the 2.8 in for this Saturday for a rolling road. We have the baseline Bhp (199.7)bhp before the manifold swap really looking forward to seeing what it is now. Manifold and larger TB. I wanted to get the modded ECU but run out of time.
He showed me the quoted figures but that was on a standard 2.8, but he did say these were not guaranteed although the car will feel completely different with all the flat spots ironed out and a better throttle response. Standard figures were 193 bhp to 211 bhp and torque 280nm to 310nm. I wanted it dyno'd before the map to see what gains the manifold conversion has made and after to see what happens with a remap as well. Hopefully it's as good as it sounds, car is weighed and all the live stats are done and the map is not a generic one he said it will be built for the car.
