Got the new discs and pads fitted last week. MTEC drilled and grooved discs all round along with EBC Ultimax 2 pads, plus new Meyle handbrake shoes. The rear pads plus shoes looked like they were replaced last year just before I got the car and they were in pretty good condition but all new ones were fitted. Painted up the calipers in red plus the springs in silver and fitted new springs on the rear. I also cleaned up the protection plates and gave them a coat of satin black, but the fronts could do with replacing at some point in the future as they were quite rusty.

Done about 400 miles with them now and they are fully bedded in, they have made a massive difference and stop you pretty sharpish, I'm very happy with how they perform. Just the braided hoses to do now which will hopefully see even more of an improvement.

Nice job Dave, I think you'll find more improvement when you get the hoses replaced mate.

Tony.

Maybe now's a good time to thnk about a remap to improve your MPG? ( Got 32 coming back yesterday didn't spare the horses either.)

Yeah definitely, can't go neglecting the brakes I have never really found them that good on Z3's in the past but I'm very happy with mine now. I got 29.2 on the way down and that was with some mixed driving and just looked at my figures since I've had it and its done 23.35 covering 3612 miles so not to bad as most of the driving I do is short journeys. A remap is on the list but I think it's a long way off yet, I keep buying other stuff for it first :woot:. I've come to the conclusion that the list of things I want to do is endless and if it ever did stop, that's when the fun stops and the time will come to sell up. I enjoy messing around with it too much and there is always something else I want to do next, when I think I've finished I find something else to do!

Know the feeling, but the only constraint is the money for me as no doubt for most of us, keep looking for more ideas from other members, just bought an centre arm rest curtesy of info from @gookah yesterday.

Yes it all comes down to money but that's the fun about these as you can pick up parts cheap and its fun hunting for new parts and goodies. Wouldn't get that from a new car and as for the meets I think it should be factory standard zeds only, as all these differences between cars end up costing each other more money :banghead:

@gookah's armrest looks good and again is another pretty cheap and very useful addition.

Yep, head lights look knackered.......:(
Far from knackered @hard top, they just need drying out and some sealant around the housing. Or better still splitting again and new sealant applied. It's only a bit of condensation but they rain was that bad it's the worst I have ever seen them. It's only happened because I've had them split to put the angel eyes in it just gives me another job to do :D

Someone needs to ban me from eBay

Only went for the bootlid, the guy has had the leather dash parts listed for a while and they need a bit of work but as my roof is now red I thought I might add a bit more colour to the interior.
