The offending screw...... get the new one so you know exact diameter, and you should be able to drill it out in stages as big a diameter as possble, heat it, and then use an extractor.
I do have a set of extractors and could be coming up to Crawley on Saturday if you can wait till then.

Might come up in the Zed, but a bit nervous in case you have a spanner in your hand

You’re more than welcome, last chance (if all goes according to plan) to try your straps. Would apriciate help with the bolt but as other sets are looking to be around £30 inc sensor I might be going down that route. I will have a spanner in hand but I promise to put it down on your arrival also with a fair wind I’ll be able to put the rear end in on Sunday so that would be the ideal day as I’ll be doing brake line Saturday.

Haven’t got the mk2 prototypes back yet. But I do now have a spare tank to help with the strap design.
The mk2 versions incorporate the mods we spoke about.

One thing I have seen is the connection on the LHS for the longer tank strap, not used on our version of course but there all the same... wonder if we can cut 2 larger sides of the tank in half and make a bigger tank

First of all a BIG thank you to @Mazza for coming round and not only dropping off a reverse drilling tool to help with the front brake disk bolt but also for the sight of a lovely Zed (in driving order), was great to see a fellows stunning ride!

Bad news first . . . I tried to drill out the brake disk to wheel hub bolt, i tried... heat, wd40, wd40 penetrator, the above tool and this how it went, first 2mm drill went through, 4mm went through, decided to use the reverse screw and it broke in the drilled out hole. As the metal is made out of a tougher metal that was the end of trying to drill it out, i did of course try, try and try but alas...say goodbye to a Zed part, 1x drivers side wheel hub, sigh. Already talked to @spurs fan in a coupe and he’s already got another in the pipeline for me!

On the positive, I put the front aside and focused on what was required for the back to be put back in, brake lines... I checked the front and tried to loosen the pipes to ASC and it looked like a trip down pain lane, the brake line screw in things weren’t budging and space round there was limited so remembering what @buze said about my fugly flares i tried to sand back and flare the old now cut from car piece of pipe. To my surprise it worked and attention to tightening the flare tool around the pipe was probably the issue, never the less i got some beautiful flares done, (none fugly) and am now confident in my joints. No need for faffing with the front, high five.

Just a thought

The screw is a 45 degree countersink ....so if the broken part is deep enough in the hole, would it not be possible to drill the head off with a 10mm drill ?? ( or screwhead diameter )
You may be able to get hold of the remaining stud once the parts are separated

Appreciate the advice but i think if i drilled out the top part the bottom threaded would still be stuck in there, tight and rounded on the top by my attempted drilling also the pic doesn’t show the current status of the issue, a well rounded hole with no bite potential for even the largest of the counter screws when I brake something I do it properly!

Pumped the brakes a couple times and brake fluid came out one of the pipes so . . . Moved onto the rear subframe finishing. Installed new parking brake shoes, springs and cables. Finished brake line flares, and attached to stainless hoses. Stainless steel pipes need washers in 2 areas, the connection to chassis and the final pipe to hose connection on the brake heat shield. Shops tomorrow, and then I shall attempt to install the subframe! Can’t wait.

Today the subframe joined the car including new poly diff bush, new diff oil (BMW £130ish wow), but got a cold so packed it in after the lift and secure

Have you been that brave as to go under the car that much with just these stands, and do all the back end from there? Blimey I'm such a wussy
