First of all, the Anglo-Saxon "invasion" wasn't really a military invasion. It was a gradual slow stream of peoples coming over from modern day Denmark and Holland, and eventually becoming the dominant group in England.

That will be the day.....Any Way HT, sorry to tell you this you and the rest of England are more Celt than Saxon. The Saxons had their A***S Kicked again by the celts during the Tudor Period.

I'm a fenman, I know my place. I look across to Wales, and stick two fingers up. I look up at Scottland and stick Two fingers up. The Romans. Never tamed us nor did the French. We are the last true Englishmen. So there!!!!!

OUT, not that I'm well informed but I'm afraid that if this EU club was any good they would have sorted the immigration problem by now,and Greece shouldn't be expected to cope as a member of this so called fantastic club if all the others including us can just shrug our shoulders. If EU countries as a union can't/won't sort it now what's the point in being in it for the future, Im thinking what if something even bigger happens next, won't matter if your in or out cos they can't stick together anyway, the next threat may be so great that they all cut and run, so what's the point ( unless the EU are paying your wages.) I'm afraid for my grand children cos I think that eventually they will lose their Brit/English identity and might even have to step up to the plate to stop what we might have started by staying in, ME !!!!! I'll probably not be here to advise them. :bored:

Indeed Roy. Listening to BBC World News the other night the head shed (German chap) was clear in stating that the deal the PM put forward was a one off for the UK and no other applications from members would be entertained. That tells a story in that the EU needs us more than we need them. 5th largest economy in the world, second largest contributor in the EU behind Germany, best recovering economy in the World. Let's face it, those European Country's in Europe but that not in the EU are not exactly starving to death, are they.
