I very nearly said I was surprised you didn't have the slam panel off. But I figured it wasn't important compared to other stuff ;)

The different number of spot welds left to right is the same on all cars for some strange reason. And I always put them back just sandwiched. They are not a structural panel.

And yes, great access with them off. It's how I removed the engines when I did my swap last year.

Had a busy day today,
Got the rest of the front stripped, didn't have a 32 mm spanner for the fan so old school ways deemed success :D
fitted the new water pump, (old one was a tw@ to get out and had to use a slid hammer) also fitted the new stat and housing, I have decided against fitting a tensioner but have the idler on order,
I stone guarded both chassis rails as they seem to take a bit of a hammering and painted the N/S inner wing and finished with satin top coat

Forgot to add that this was the easy bit, I'm not looking forward to masking out the BMW bit on the other cover

Some nice touches though Sean.
These are the bits that make all the hard work justifiable, I have quite a few more planned especially on the interior, its a fine line to tread as too much will ruin the whole build.

I was going to paint the strut brace ends in gold as well but think I'll do them metallic black, the main bar is carbon, I'm still undecided
