Great day today, got worked up early so cracked on with the Z, cooling system now in place and painted the underside of the bonnet, its slow going building up as every nut and bolt is either getting replaced or refurbished as well as all the other parts are getting a good clean,
Also stripped and painted the power steering cooler, it was heavily corroded to the point that I thought it would need replacing but once the heavy stuff was off it seems to be OK

I have a supply left (I think) of the 6 bolts that hold the 2 lower bonnet catches in place if you want some. They are silly money new from BMW. These are virtually identical and are stainless steel finish rather than flat zinc. They look great with new/cleaned up catches.

The 4 bolts that hold the panel to the inner wing are worth changing too. But it looks like you have that covered. They are a common size of hex head.

Bled the cooling system today and was at a stalemate as I couldn't get the heater to blow hot, now I had heard about raising the front and thought it to be a load of tosh, last ditch attempt, I raised the front, gave it some revs and the bleed hole erupted and bubbled like mount vesuvius :D check the heater and it was hot hot hot :D thats the engine bay complete

Beginning to resemble a car again mate. Headlights look spot on.

Finally glued the edge of the new window down tonight, I'm so pleased I masked it out as it was a right bloody game,

Also got the engine bay complete, just needs a detail

Then sorted the tool kit, sprayed the jack as it was a bit rusty

Looks like your fitting a spoiler to the bootlid again

Did you not fancy smoothing the boot lock hole again on this one?
You have a keen eye pal, I left that there and wondered if anyone would spot it, I may do the boot lock delete at a later date

Didn't like to say myself. But personally I'd have done it all one colour, grey or yellow myself.

Fortunately Sean gets to do as he pleases and not what we think ;)
