Then got the slam panel in primer, also stripped the power steering coolor whilst I was at it
Considering I used the water base gun by mistakeThe finish looks brilliant Sean.
I may well do as he only lives a few miles away, it was his wifes car, wonder if sh'ell want it backAny plans to take it to show it's former owner that you've bought it back to life @Sean d
I will be painting the slam panel Austin yellow but as for the rest, it has been done neutral as has the underside and under the wheel arches so if I decide to change the colour in the future it will be a lot easier
Its only a just in case pal and will be a number of years, I also like the idea of the engine bay in satin grey, it looks very OEM, oh and there will be some Austin in there as well as the slam panelBloody hell @Sean d, you haven't even put it back together and you're talking about a colour change. It's not fair.
You can't put us all through that again. You kept us waiting long enough for this one.
It is quite painful mate but I will be removing as many ancillaries as I can, yes I will be using a mini gun and put it on squirt rather then fan for the more awkward areas,Just how hard is it to paint under the bonnet/engine bay Sean? Do you have to use a very small spray gun? Masking must be a pain too.
Tony.
Actually I do need a recommendation on what to use as a general engine cleaner as I want to give it a thorough clean before I paint itI should've sent you a can of "Scrubbing Bubbles" mate. By the way those wheel bolts should land very soon Sean.
Tony.
I use Autoglym machine cleaner mate, seems to work well. Squirt and scrub then hose down with a very low pressure trickle, pat the worst out then a liberal spray of Autoglym Vinyl spray, all over, leave for a couple of hours then buff up.Actually I do need a recommendation on what to use as a general engine cleaner as I want to give it a thorough clean before I paint it
Absolutely not, they will be gloss blackSean, are you going to paint the door handles Austin yellow ?
