But I'm afraid we might if the rest of Europe wont allow us to tighten our immigration laws though Hugh, that's part of the problem. Many European countries I feel would happily let lots of immigrants through their countries if the final destination was England. Did you see the news tonight about them cutting fences and forcing their way into another country by sheer weight of numbers, it's going to end up in a blood bath I think.

Tony.
Those aren't legal immigrants and are more likely refugees a totally diffrent situation and they have no rights, and no right to stay only the rights you or your government chose to give them

Who are your own people Tony?
That's a fair question Hugh and I would have to say anyone here in the UK legally and not someone trying to force their way in across our borders by any means? If someone is here legally, they have a right to be here? Otherwise not. Whether he, she or who ever is from Syria, Libya or any other place these "hords" as David Cameron rightly described them are coming from. This little island can't take many more can it?

30? years ago it was people from Bangladesh or other Asian countries, when you watch the Aussie border programmes on TV their problems (illegals) come from Asia too, mainly China The Phillipines and Vietnam/Cambodia, but all they want is a better life, if they're illegal they get sent back shouldn't we do this ?

We all have our moans about this and that, but it's best to stick to facts. FACT - currently immigrants contribute more to the economy than they take out in all studies. Nevertheless no country can take an overwhelming number.Being in or out of the EU it will still be an issue.Greece has no ties with Syria, but it is not that easy to just say the border is closed.
FACT - the economic crisis in 2008 was not caused by the government, here or in the rest of the world,it was caused by the banks and we are all still paying for them having to be bailed out.

The last recession took place under the Labour Government watch.

We still haven't recovered.

Fact.

We hand out benefits for fun!

You are better off on the dole in many cases!

I agree with what you are saying,we do get subsidies from the EU but they are affected by the strong £ would that have something to do with your bussnes,I worked in a textile company in our village for a couple of years the work went to Bulgaria and the Far East because we couldn't compete with their wages.change from the inside, were always better as a team that can work together.express your feelings but please support them with facts that stand a little scrutiny
I am supporting this with hard facts? It has nothing to do with wages, its all about economics, too many cooks spoil the broth. I for one believe this little country has a lot to offer I agree that it needs running properly, exporting goods to then import them again is not good economics: i.e. a producer in the UK makes a product it is then exported to a factory in Europe processed and then imported into the UK for our use? That is both bad economics and bad logistics and it is not just the UK that this effects, why do it? to boost the European Economy that's why pure and simple. Who pays for it, the consumer.

By the way, I did read about the 'asylum seekers' leaving Norway at their own request and going back to Iraq, because it was to cold.
Laughed my bloody nuts off.......
