Forgot to login and say mine arrived in super quick time and I'm super impressed. As the weekend looks decent and I have Monday off as well it looks like its going to be:

Fuel straps
Fuel filter
Front suspension
Sills off

Might change the water pump as well!

Hi all,

Would just like to say thank you to all that have ordered them from me.

50 of the 100 now sold. mostly in the UK, but also Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, Holland and Romania.
Also possible interest from the USA and Italy.

I am in the process of modifying 15 sets to convert them to a Z3M version.
Of these 15 , 5 have already been reserved. 4 UK and 1 USA

And......Many thanks to Martin (@Mnbrennan ) and Mark ( @Althulas ) for their help with this.

Martin has helped me to sort out the dimensions for the additional parts, and I had a facetime video link with Mark, and while he was grovelling round underneath his car giving me video pictures of the canister and fixing points, I was just sitting in the conservatory drinking beer......=))=))=)) felt a bit guilty about that !!!!!

I now have drawings out with three engineering companies, just waiting for their quotes to come back, and then I will get them underway.

When I sent out parcels, in most cases I have included the forum name on the address label ( for my benefit so I could keep track)

Today I had a message back to say that a parcel had arrived...….
........and the Courier has asked the recipient ( Paul) " Are you a Dalek ?, as I have a parcel for you "

I have been laughing about this all day...………=))

Fitted Mazza's tank straps yesterday and I can confirm it isn't particularly difficult - I did it in a single afternoon. My tips:
  1. Get the car up as high as you can
  2. Wear old clothes or an overall, with eye protection as all sorts of crap will fall on you once you disturb things.
  3. Follow Malc's instructions closely, particularly where to cut the old strap. Being a smart ar*e I though it would be easier to cut the horizontal part across the bottom of the tank, and so it was. But leaving that extra bit means you can't wriggle the old strap over and round the axle beam, so I had to cut it again where Malc indicated, and its hard work using a hacksaw when under the car. That'll teach me.
  4. I had to unclip the handbrake cable from the floor to give me enough wiggle room to get the new long piece in place. Not a big issue as it clips back fine afterwards.
  5. Take care not to trap the wires between the new strap and the tank. I somehow managed it on both sides. Skill, I suppose.

Many, many thanks to Malc for getting these straps made. They are superb.

Hi Mario...........Your name is on the list !!!!!

Bit of an update on the Z3M set...I have now had all the quotes in for the additional parts, not as cheap as I would have liked, but only getting 15 sets done, unfortunately means the machining price goes up

Anyway, I placed orders for the additional parts today.

Hopefully the Z3M sets will be available in a few weeks ( 7 out of the 15 already reserved)

Update on the Z3M straps.......

Picked up the machined blocks and the straps that have had two countersunk holes added today.
All looks good.
The stop bracket will be ready on tuesday, then I will take all the bits to get them powder coated.

Screws are on order and should be with me early next week.

I found some longer M6 screws just to set it up and it all checks out dimensionally against the original part.

I will fit the block before sending any out and it will have loctite on the threads. I will also supply a new M6 x 12 hex flanged head bolt that holds the lower strap to it.

Its like being back at work .......only there is no one that I can delegate to =))=))

I have a local guy coming round on Tuesday to have a set fitted on his Z3 ( He’s not a forum member......YET !!!)
But I will be able to make use of it and check the fitting of the Z3M version block as I’m fairly sure that all cars have the canister strap fixing point but its only the Z3M’s that actually use it.
