Z3 Coupe uglier than a bread van?

I think people just don't get it.
The Z3 Coupe is a one off different concept.
I sat in one at a BMW dealers when they first came on the market when I was looking for a new company car and I was sold.
Could not have one though, as we were not allowed 2 seater's.

I did scratch my head a bit at all the space in the back but who cares?
Keep driving your Euro boxes people.....;)

Knob in law had one. Nice car, shame about the driver.

They are mate, still a Hunter under the skin. I used to work on them back in the 70's. Right rot boxes too, like most cars back then. Good lookers though, they did a sporty version of them too but I can't recall the name, think it had a Holbay conversion ( twin side draft Weber carbs etc.) it just surfaced, it was the H120. :)

Think you might mean the Hillman Hunter GLS, @t-tony Tuned by Holday with twin 40 DCOEs, my Dad hankered for one having only the standard model, only ever saw one when he took me to car show, Earls Court.

I googled 'breadvan' to see what an actual one looked like and instead of an old transit this came up:

I'd have whatever bread comes delivered in that!

I bit more on why the Z3 M Coupe had to have the standard Z3 front end.

"The M Coupe, manufactured from 1998 until 2002, was developed under the leadership of engineer Burkhard Göschel with the intention of adding increased torsional and structural rigidity to the Z3 roadster’s chassis. The development team had a hard time convincing the Board of Directors to approve the model for production, but it was eventually given the green light as long as it remained cost-effective to produce. To achieve this goal, as many body panels as possible had to be shared with the roadster, thus the doors and everything from the A-pillar forward are interchangeable between the coupe and roadster, as are most interior parts. The Z3 coupe, which mates the M coupe's body with the standard Z3 drivetrain, chassis and cosmetics was approved for production at the same time."

As Hardtop said quite rightly :-
"I think people just don't get it.

No Roy, there definitely was an H120 Rapier. I knew about the Hunter model though. Also the Avenger Tiger and the Sunbeam Lotus, even the Sunbeam Ti was a bit special it had twin side draft Weber's too. We sold one to a garage owner out at Kirton-in-Lindsey who was a club rally member. Once watched it flying down Willingham Lane Rally stage.
