Got a few bits back on this morning , rear brakets and those lumps of ballast !!!
Should be able tidy up some of the boot and reinstate the plastics now
Also, cleaned up the threads in the bumper height adjusters .....with a tap that arrived in the post today.
The thread is 27mm x 1.5 pitch.
Now you all know where there is a tap in case you ever need to borrow one
Did find that the N/s bumper mount was loose and turned out to be the two nuts that hold it had been damaged.
Ordered replacements, and can pick up monday. But have to buy a pack of 10, so may as well change the offside ones too. Fortunately the studs they fit on were ok and not even bent.
When the rebuild is finished I’ll put a list of all the surplus fixings that I have accumulated in case anyone needs any.
I emailed BMW technical a couple of days ago asking about the air filter box foam that is disintegrating and what its actual purpose is........
The answer I got today...
.......Unfortunately due to the age of your car, I am really not in a position to advice you about it as I have no knowledge about cars this old. I can only advise to get in touch with your preferred BMW Centre. Where one of our Service Advisors will need to inspect your vehicle and assess your situation, in order to identify these parts you are referring to....
Firstly, Why isnt there someone in the Technical dept that does have knowledge of the older cars
Secondly , it was the local centre that said about contacting BMW Technical
Thirdly, why do they need to inspect the vehicle
And lastly, I advised them what the parts are, and even sent photos of the parts and problem

Have since gone back to Local BMW, and to be fair, the guy I spoke to admitted he didnt know, but would email all the people in the workshop and service departments to see if anyone could advise, and get back to me.
Now the bit where I admit what a plonker I am.
I had to ask @Alan Slade to measure his bonnet for me as I forgot to measure my old one before I cut it up and dumped it !!!!
Having got the measurements this morning, I have booked a huge van ....it wont go in a standard transit as too big to sit flat on the floor. Pick up from @Jjim arranged for Sunday 25th. And the bonnet, front and rear bumper covers and the bootlid (from @Ryan atkins ) being delivered to the sprayer the following day before I have to return the van.
Its all happening

Nothing I can really do at the moment.
Just got the carpets and plastics located back in the boot, but not screwed it in yet just in case I need to get to anything underneath later

I removed the Z3 badge altogether, prefer the "cleaner" boot without it!

The foam in the air box is almost certainly there just to make it quieter. It's actually called an intake muffler so clues in the name really
