Tommy's Z3 Turbo drift car

@Tommy Bates

You are one of the only people that I know that can really compare the E36 Compact chassis and the Z3 chassis.
The axles are the same.
You have swapped the engine, so the same in both cars you had.
So now the only difference in handling is the chassis itself.

How do you rate the Z3 against the compact?

Regards, Koen

Had a good day doing afew tests at Birmingham, car was over Boosting on the map that I had on it in the first few runs so I had to turn the boost down slightly, I need bigger injectors for a decent power map and more boost so next purchase will be some 440cc injectors

Here's some pics for you

Last session of the day my hydrolic hand brake stopped working, I don't think this was helping hahaha

Picked up some delaminated rubber lol

Also got my front facing brake light working which I think is pretty cool

Why a front brake light?? do you ever brake?? :baa:baa:baa (couldn't find a "smiley" of a chicken)

Haha it's their to work against me lol so the judges can mark me down for braking even when I'm facing them , regulations make it fair for everyone, theirs nothing worse than trying to chase someone and they keep brake checking you to put you off your rythem

Been a whe since I posted , Teesside went really well !!!! No issues all day apart from having to much grip which is never a bad thing

I have managed to get into santapod BMW show doing passenger rides and drift demos , I'm feeling a colour change for the occasion ,

Still have some yellow left over from helping a friend paint this

What do we think ????

change of plan guys its staying grey for now , just realised how busy im gunna be with work this week ,

so look out for the battle ship grey Z3 , passenger rides are £10 i think , let me know if your a zorg member and il give you afew extra laps on the sly whilst the organizers aren't watching

What's the plan for the sills?
Full fibreglass replacements or just some added on material?

Hopefully that wing will stop the arse sliding around, you really should check your tracking or something, I never see your car in a straight line ;)

Haha yeah it does seem to be a issue @Dino D lol sills I'm going to add flat grp or aluminium to theme he same thickness as front splitter ,

Also will be making a rear diffuser and relocating the exhaust in the middle of the bumper

@NeRo unfortunatly I just didn't have the funds to make it to driftland this year , hoping to go their next year now

Santapod been and gone , had the pleasure of taking quite afew fellow zedders out in it , however I was disappointed that no one screemed very loud !!! Their for I decided more power is needed

Sold my old turbo set up coming out where the headlight is

Now it's time for a massive upgrade
Gt3586 turbo been orderd

Now to run this turbo I need to have a different manifold to fit it in

Here's how the setup looks in a e36

This allows me to run a headlight and potentially put it on the road

Now with this setup and some bigger injectors il be aiming for between 400hp and 500hp instead of the measly 300hp some of you experienced at santapod, plus a mot

Things are getting interesting, il keep you posted

Now that would be one crazy road going zed look forward to the progress with interest
