I was over at Knockhill last Saturday to watch the practice for Round 2 of the BDC - got some practice in for when @Tommy Bates comes up to Driftland later in the year

BDC Photos are on my Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10154036243954852.1073741858.704139851&type=1&l=f1fd1df124

... and yes that is a Chrysler 300 in some of the photos, albeit with a Viper V10 motor fitted ;)

Haha yeah awesome man I been following the guy building that on Facebook , he's full of crazy ideas lol

And @Dino D luckily the non vanos motor come with the metal housing for the thermostat , I believe it may be magnesium from what I have been told

Been a busy bee tonight , even though the cars away theirs still stuff to be getting on with

I am putting e46 3 series front bottom arms on as they are slightly longer and give better castor on lock , you have to modify the back of them slightly to fit in the standard rear lollipop bushes and I have also made s mount for the e36 anti roll bars as the e46 have drop links on the shocks

Something I'm also going to be testing is these "coil on shock" coilovers off a mk1 golf , these particular ones allow you to adjust the ride height without affecting the spring pre load , this will allow me to go away from the pig tail springs as they seem to make it really wallowy and sloppy on the rear and have no real adjustment, all I have had to do to make them able to fit is drill out the bottom hole where they mount onto the rear hubs

Surely you will need to beef up the shock mount area in the "parcel shelf" area, the upper shock mounts were never designed to take the load of a shock and spring! I an thinking they will punch through the sheet steel over time.

Good for you for having a go though, I have seen this converstion done on a Z3M Coupe before but never a roady.

So how about that cage now? ...It's been more then 2 weeks now.

(don't forget the pictures of the seat-fittings :) )
My Zed will have it's cage in from next Tuesday....should also take 10-14 days.

Got the cage finished 1 day before the first event didn't even get chance to paint it lol

Cars currently away being mapped so will get more pictures when it comes back

Reason it's being mapped again is because last weekend it decided to run like crap on me after fitting the piggy back ecu and mapping It it decided it was going to limit its self to 5200rpm meaning my hole weekend was spent trying to find this out instead of drifting!!! This problem ment I was unable to qualify against the 500 to 700 hp cars I was up against

But here's a video of me giving it my best shot , I estimate the car probably has about 150hp in this video haha

As you can tell she sounds abit poorly so back to the garage for fault finding

Here's some pics of her in the sun looking pretty anyway

Got a battle scar from running the wall lol

Haha awesome @BMBabe , I don't know where il be at next as the car needs a it of work to find out why it's not running right and also trying to squeeze every last drop of power its capable off I'm hoping to get it down to pembry for rd2 next month but it all depends on how tight money is after finishing all the little tweeks

Not really much to update on atm guys , found the issue why it's limited at 5k , air leak due to a vaccum pipe blowing off ,

I'm booked in on a drift day at Teesside on 31st of August, anyone down that way let me know and il make sure I come back In to take you out for a passenger ride

Why do you live so high up north?
The nightboat to hull would be possible....will have to plan something in when my zed is ready too...

Where abouts is your local track buddy , I'm in Midlands so it's not to much trouble for me to get to most tracks , North or South

Finally got round to painting the interior tonight, that's a job I never want to do again !!!!! Lol

image.jpg

Any news on this @Tommy Bates :D

Unfortunately I have been in contact with some of the guys from previous years and it's the Marshalls from drift what you brung days at santapods privileges , so unless someone with some popularity behind them request I do passenger rides I can't do it ,

I will however be trying my hand at the handling course , not expecting any tropheys as the car isn't really set up for the fastest way round the corner just the most stylish lol
