Picked the Z4 up today from the body shop after being in for the front end to be Wet flattened and polished. Seems to look a lot better. I will know if it is when the Sun comes out. No pic as it is such a dull day so will post some up when we have a sunny day.
Car now booked in to go to the Detailers to have its Nano coatings put on on the 19th June. Then booked in for the 26th to have front wishbone bushes done and MOT

Well Spring is coming and a few bits i have to do on the Z4. Mileage now 62990 so since May last year we have now done 4k miles.
Today i fully charged the battery and for the first time in 4 months started her up and gently ran her up to temperature.
List of things to do ready for Spring
Just ordered a new Water Pump to replace the old one (should get it end of the month)
Just ordered new drivers side 3.0si badge, drivers seat outer cover and entrance trim piece to replace the older ones that are slightly scuffed.
Will also be calling a guy up on Monday to see if he can re-colour both seats.
Other points to try and sort out are my Mirrors have stopped working so hopefully this will just be a fuse as the stopped working when i replaced the passenger glass
Also need to adjust the handbrake cable as car rolls when on higher gradients

New thermostat ordered yesterday to go with the new Water Pump. These 3.0si are not cheap managed to get both the water pump and thermostat for £255 so a bargain compared to Bmw price of around £500+

All parts now ordered and now in discussion with the guy who is going to refurb the seats. When it's all done we won't want to sell it.

Booked in to get the seats done on the 17th of this month.
Received the water pump just waiting for the Thermostat then will get it booked in to have these replaced and all the coolant done ready for the warmer weather.
When the warmer weather comes i will also be doing a full detail of the car to get rid of the winter crap and dust.

We are now thinking of changing the Kuga instead as Kim does not want a normal sized car for winter times as she moans that other cars headlights blind her, which is why we got the Kuga. Trouble is as we only do short distances in the Kuga we are toying with getting a 2014/2015 petrol one to replace it as the Diesel we have keeps clogging up the DPF sensors and will only be a matter of time before the DPF will need replacing and they are a mind boggling price

Low mileage diesels are a recipe for problems Bill. A wise choice.

Tony.

Yep my daily is a 1.0 3 cylinder turbo petrol focus. Best thing I ever did, it's boring yes but is a great little car and sooooooo cheap to run. It only does a 12 mile round trip a day to and from work.

They made a 2.5t version 5cyl version...
I have it in an Smax. Love it. A few tweaks and 270+ bhp and as much torque as any tractor engine but over a very wide band. Does trouble the front wheels in this weather, should be very good in the AWD Kuga.

Just let’s not talk about mpg.

A Ford with a Volvo engine, rare beast, it's usually the other way round these days. Same type of motor they put in the Focus St. The one where you have to remove the engine to change the cambelt.

Yes it’s the 5cyl Volvo like in the ST but definitely not an engine out job for cam belt on the 5cyl.

Was in the Focus according to Autodata. There was a Fiat model with the same affliction.

Also another Ford model back in the eighties had the same problem. Motors didn't need pulling but damn near just to do an oil change. JIM

Have now had the water pump/thermostat replaced at the Indie and while it was in i got them to do the oil/filter and pollen filter service and to adjust the Handbrake.
When i picked it up the guy said it was one of the nicest and well sorted Z4s he has come across and was pleasantly surprised i was doing the water pump just as a precaution.
All thats left is the seats which will now be on the 7/4/18
