Thought it was time i did a Progress Thread

You love your gadgets mate.

I am looking for a lock up Garage near me and if i get one i will want to know the Zed is safe

Good call. Hard to get hold of nowadays mate. Good luck with your search.

A useful gadget since most thefts nowadays are done using stolen keys.
Interested to know what the GPS and GSM antennas are like and where you can install them.

Thats the thing as i wont want anything on show so i might see if i can fit it somewhere discretely.

Not easy to get at but I would have thought somewhere underneath the dashboard by the windscreen at least for the GPS. The GSM is a little more difficult as it will need visibility of the mobile masts. A mobile antenna in the radio aerial would be best - can't recall if the Z4 radio aerial has one built in.

The plan is to fit the GPS one under the dash with the GSM one i am thinking of maybe running round the top of the internal light and just having the Ariel sit snug on the very top of the windscreen behind the internal mirror

That should work well. Any idea how easy it is to get the trim off around the edge of the screen?

I ran my Dashcam wire that way and it just pushed up through the trim. I did not need to take any of it off. I just used a plastic spatular type tool i found in the shed just to give a little bit of gap to push the wire through

All has been quiet on doing any work on the Zed since i had the Exhaust fitted and refurbed the drivers seat.
So today i decided to purchase one of these
https://www.rewiresecurity.co.uk/103rs-car-vehicle-tracking-device
You can txt the car to cut the engine off if it ever gets stolen i can also sign up to GPS Live where i can view where the car is
This is a pay as go one and hopefully shall fit it in the next couple of weeks.
I am also hoping to give the Zed another machine polish in the next couple of months and seal it with Gtechniq crystal serum and EXOv2

Careful how you apply that Serum....Get it wrong and you will need to Machine polish it off Bill.....Fantastic protection though with the EXO v2...Sell all your waxes after putting that on mate..

Right a quick update. Due to not having the time to do the finishing part of the polishing of the Z i have booked it in to get the body work at totally finished. It goes in Monday and i get it back on Saturday. The guy is doing a 2 stage machine polish as he said it does not require any cutting apart from maybe the odd spots. He is then going to apply 1 coat of Gtechniq Serum Light and 2 coats of Gtechniq Exo v2 which is what i am supplying. So pictures to follow after it has been done.
This is where i am having it done

Have a look at the before and after pic on the Bentley

Well I got a phone call off the detailer yesterday to tell me the paint finish was bad and looked as thought the body shop had only used 2500 grit instead of 3000 grit and here were sanding marks all over the front. I told him to get the best he can in the time frame we had and I would call the bodyshop.
Today I called them and explained what the detailer had told me and to my surprise and fair dues to them they told me to book it back in and they will sort it out.
So I will be calling them next week when I have arranged a day for me to take it in which will be the week after the bank holiday. Then it will go back to the detailer to have the coating applied to the front

Not that it should have happened in the first place but that's a result I'd say.

These last 2 weeks have been spent on Machine Polishing the Zed. I have not had time to do the doors, sills and bumpers. I have also been redoing the Drivers seat.
Car is starting to look a lot better, still some light scratches where i was not aggressive enough with the cutting compound, the car looks fantastic in the shade, the test to see how bad it is will come when it goes in the sun =)).
After the Z got a coat of Swissvax

A couple of videos of the completed work. Videos are not brilliant as it is hard judging the distance with the camera

i wonder how well i can get my z3 beige seats to come up.. i did my steering wheel a few months ago in beige, and very tempted to do the driver seat bolster now... i used celulose semi gloss in an aerosol just dont really know how well the seat will go with celulose...

You will need to use a dye on the Seats. The cellulose will crack due to the amount of times getting in and out of the car and also the flexing of the seats while sat it them. Plenty of folk on here have changed the colour of their seats

Got the Z4 back today and have to say it does look a lot better than it did. He has gone as far as he can without wet flattening it. He even hoovered it out for me
