Sounds like the dual mass flywheel
Is the vibration there sitting at idle in neutral , if you take the revs up just off idle does it help i.e. Does the vibration smooth out ?

For this to start as quick and heavy as it appears it did I can't see a blocked valve causing it, it would build slowly in my eyes?

Tony.
If its like the BMW CCV it's a rubber diaphragm, if it tears then the issue can be instant. Just a thought.

Were a little beyond that @Sully now mate. That was down to a failed injector so the lack of power was causing the vibration.

That's not good , it does sound like a breathing issue or back pressure issue
You will need a cyl leakage tester to see what's going on in there , any more than 10% means there is issues
But sounds like your getting well fed up

We are mate but it's the wifes car and she wants to battle on if possible. If it's to deep seated it'll have to go.

You may well be right Lee, I don't have much experience with these to be honest. If it's a diaphragm which has split through having the "boost" back in the motor now it's running at full power again, then it is more than possible. Back in the day Stromberg carbs. had a diaphragm which failed if it wasn't changed at service intervals, and there again the effect was fairly instant too.

Tony.

It could be the head gasket that has gone with the new found compression.
If its blown piston in to oilway it would do the same as pressurise the system.
We had it on our Rav 4 but with a water way that just pushed the water out of the water bottle when the car was at any more than tick over.
It wasn't a cheap fix at all but the car had the value in it to outway getting rid.
If this has been ruled out then my bad quick read the posts hope you get to the bottom of it.

I had one of these diaphragms go in my Ford Orion back in the day it drove like a 1ltr here was me expecting excellence in my first 1.6 and it was poor.
Had it replaced and the difference was unbelievable.

There is no white sludge in either the dipstick or filler cap ends mate. Checked yesterday after someone had mentioned it.
