That wouldn't allow pressure to build in the crankcase though mate, has to be piston/bore related, ie hole in piston or rings stuck in grooves maybe.
Tony.
Tony.
I'm Inclined to agree Dave but Jue is still wanting to keep it if it's not going to cost a fortune to repair. Will see what the neighbour says when he's home tonight. Maybe you should have a word with her being her dad and all that!!Dave I think the time has come to part with it. It seems like it's going to cost you quite some dosh to get it fixed. Cut your losses and get rid.
Whichever way I read that Tony it just spells MoneyThat wouldn't allow pressure to build in the crankcase though mate, has to be piston/bore related, ie hole in piston or rings stuck in grooves maybe.

If Jue likes the style and room, get shot of that one for another. EasyI'm Inclined to agree Dave but Jue is still wanting to keep it if it's not going to cost a fortune to repair. Why thanks for the happy news lol!!! Yep we been told not to run it. I'll see what the neighbour says later today and we will make the decision.blue/grey smoke is probably oil going up past or through the piston and being burnt in the exhaust manifold. Either way, its looking like a piston.
Sorry bud, its looking expensive.
IF you can get the sump off with the engine still in the car, you MIGHT get way with honing the bore and replacing the piston & rings without lifting the engine out. Obviously the head has to come off. And it'll be a right "b1tch" doing it in a driveway.
ps, don't run it.
For it to push the dipstick out and blow oil all over it has to be pressurising the crankcase. Only thing I can see causing that is blow by of a piston, either one has a hole or it's losing it down past the rings at the side of a piston, unless the oil level is WAY too high?I've now spoken to my neighbour. He hasn't got a compression tester so that's not been done. He has re-seated all the injectors using new brass washers and he's very happy with the one that had to be heli coiled. He took it for a test drive and was very impressed with the power it gave in comparison to his 140bhp model. He then said it started to smell of oil so pulled over to find the dipstick out and oil all over the engine compartment. He limped it back and did further investigations finding oil in the turbo to intercooler pipe saying again it's down to pressure in the crankcase. All the crankcase breather is clear. So that is where we are at. No definite answer as to the problem but he says it is definitely not injector or turbo related. HELP!!!! @Lee?
Oil level was fine Tony prior to the blow out. Could it be the pcv valve? Just reading online trying to eliminate things. For it to push the dipstick out and blow oil all over it has to be pressurising the crankcase. I would go with your crank case vent being blocked mate. Should be a PCV valve there that separates the vacuum and oil, if it cant do it job the oil will either start burn going through the inlet manifold or blow out somewhere like the dipstick.I've now spoken to my neighbour. Part of the breathing system then, I hate all these abbreviations. Is it electrically operated? If it's just a plain old valve with a posh name it may be possible to remove it temporarily, to see if it reduces the oil blow out or clean it?Positive crankcase ventilation valve mate
For this to start as quick and heavy as it appears it did I can't see a blocked valve causing it, it would build slowly in my eyes?I would go with your crank case vent being blocked mate. Edit: Then if its not the PCV it will be a stuck ring/worn
Thank you mate. I've looked online at euro carparts but they don't seem to list one unless it has another name? Is it an easy (ish) job to do mate?I would go with your crank case vent being blocked mate. Mate your way ahead of me here! I haven't a clue what anyone is going on about! Just passing on things as I come across it from various angles.Part of the breathing system then, I hate all these abbreviations. Is it electrically operated? I think it has mate to be honest. Car hasn't been right since we bought it. We've had it 6 months, I think it's just finally come to a head. For this to start as quick and heavy as it appears it did I can't see a blocked valve causing it, it would build slowly in my eyes?
