Sepsis

Glad you are being sorted out and as others have said make sure you are better before returning things will keep going without you.

Get well soon :):)

He’ll of a way to drop a few pounds fella

When I was with the doctor I said I felt weak but that's probably because I hadn't eaten since last Wednesday, he looked at me sideways and said not to worry about not eating as I'm ok for a few weeks yet, …… cheeky f*****r =))

Bloody hell Gary!!! Hope you're on the road to recovery mate. I think you need a new doctor now. Cheeky git =))

Hell's teeth, there but for the grace of God go all of us. Has Sepsis been known by another name in the past? I've only heard of it for the past couple of years. Anyway I'm so glad that it was caught in the nick of time so all the very best for a speedy recovery.

Take it easy - You know now how serious Sepsis is. If you're not getting better soon, don't hang around, doctor again or A&E so they can pump AB's into you. Don't hesitate - time matters...
Doing the right thing on fluids. It is easy to under-estimate how much you're drinking though.

Commonly known as blood poisoning even though its a bacterial infection. Aka Septicemia.

OK right, blood poisoning, but I don't remember that being linked to such horendous consequences if not caught in time, anyway all the very best for a full recovery.

The doctor told me that sepsis is brought on by the body's immune system, first fighting an infection and then for some reason it starts attacking the very thing it's trying to protect, so basically you kill yourself. It's very easy to treat if it's caught early but also has a high fatality rate if it's not. Basically it leads to total organ failure and so the body just switches everything off and dies

There seems to be some difference between the two:

That descriptive is near the mark but without boring the pants of everyone the only thing I will add is Gary if you feel your symptoms are worsening forget the GP and go to A&E to be on the safe side. We don’t mind someone being safe than falling in a heap and requiring a stay in ITU. Seen it to many times but sounds like your in good hands.

So sorry to hear this Gary take care and the medication, my elder brother was ruched off to Colchester hospital yesterday struggling to breath, result he had had a heart attack, had water on both lungs and heart not looking to good. Geoff

Yep that's what happened to me Gary. It went for my liver first and it wasn't functioning at all. A standard Liver reading is around 100, mine was 930 odd.

Hope you feel better soon
