The cars running but it's burning a lot of oil. There was some damage to number 5 and 6 pistons on the edge of the crown. Ideally I should have stripped them out and changed rings and pistons but to be honest I didn't fancy the job.
I'm seriously thinking of putting another engine in, or more likely, I'll pay someone to do it for me. I'm keeping her though as I've got a strong attachment to her. Looks like I've got to put my hand a bit deeper into my pocket.

Great to hear you’ve turned the corner and it was just a scare on Friday. The NHS is at its best in those critical moments. Makes it easier to live with it’s foibles and problems because they are small by comparison.

When they say rest, they mean rest. Your body has taken a hammering and needs time to recover. Eat well and plenty of fluids too.
 
I don't know how I missed this frightening post Gary! :(My God, with pneumonia you don't play!... 40 years ago I got one and I fought with for 4 weeks and felt weak and dizzy...but I was 18! And the antibiotic was Penicillin, every 6 hours, in the but:grumpy:. More than 4 weeks after ending the treatment I couldn't seat down due to the injection area...:(

Take care of yourself and eat right in order to recover your forces!

You don't realise how good the NHS are until something serious like this happens, they are life savers. I certainly wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. Sounds like they sorted you just in time, get well soon!
 
That all sounds a bit scary!!
Glad you are on the mend, but take the time needed to get better. Don’t make the mistake I did and try to do things too early.
Our NHS are wonderful, they really are life savers.
