I got back from Bahrain a week ago, was feeling a bit lethargic and while I was sitting in the office I was struggling to get a good lung full of air. Then I developed a cough that made me feel like I was going to break my ribs every time I coughed. It got progressively worse as the week went by. I spent Saturday and Sunday in bed, sweating and coughing. I messaged my work to tell them I wouldn't be in this week as I haven't felt as ill as this, … ever.
I've always enjoyed good health and haven't had any sick leave for 12 years (confirmed today by the doc)
Went to see the doctor today and apparently I was just in time to prevent me probably never having to worry about anything ever again
I've got fluid on my left lung, my blood pressure is low, my body temperature is high and my pulse rate is high.
What started out as a chest infection has developed into Sepsis but luckily for me we've caught it before it can do me some serious damage. I've been prescribed strong antibiotics and doc says it should clear in a week.
When I got home from the doctors I've searched online and it's scared me sh**less.
I'm still quite lethargic, mainly because I haven't eaten,(my last proper meal was last Wednesday, I've only had a few slices of toast since) but I'm taking plenty of fluids, and as I've got an extra bit of padding the doctor said he's not too concerned about my lack of appetite, I reckon the way I'm going I could drop a stone this week.
