after a re-gass the system looses pressure after around 3 weeks....so after 2 attempts to find it and using a sniff test it seems to be the condenser.
as us M owners know the air con condenser is no longer available for our cars...and theres seems to be no after market version out their (even though they claim they fit ..they dont ).
so it looks like a recore is in order.
so its off and read to be sent off also new OE O rings bought from BMW.
the dryer will also be replaced.

theres some guys over in Middleton M24 ...no price yet until they have inspected it.....but what other options are there..
 
I have seen new ones come up on ebay from time to time but whether they are the correct ones who knows.
 
the only way Ian is to have the OE and the after market one side by side

Oooooof Wayne, that is looking fantastic mate. That hard top looks the absolute dogs. Makes me miss my old zed..........there are a few nice zeds for sale at the moment actually.............just so happens I've got a few grand burning a whole in my pocket at the moment.........hmmmmmmmm

To sum up the last few years:

1, crashed the VX220 at donington
2, fixed the VX220 then an idiot drove into it.
3, fixed the VX220 then a fireman set fire to it.
4, insurance paid out and I used the money to buy the car that I was trying to keep up with at Donington just before I crashed (a supercharged VX220)
5, didn't like the S/C'd vx as much so sold it
6, bought a Megane R26 in the mean time
7, found a perfect 290 BHP VX220 turbo but decided I don't want one any more
8, now gone full circle and want a nice 3.0 roadster

I'm looking at one on Friday, fingers crossed!!!!!!!

How are you bud?

same old same old...went to look at a 911 C4S though...but took the M out on the Yorkshire moors run...that was it...couldnt get rid..

new custom made aircon rad sourced ...will take pics and post them up..also new aircon dryer to e bought and have also got new aircon seals from BMW as advised by the guys that did the aircon rad

I looked at Porsches, I quite fancied a boxster S. The cost of ownership was astronomical compared to a zed so I've gone off the idea.

If I do get a zed we'll need to pester Jim or Bill to organise a cruise (if they are still about). Is Mozza still on here?
 
yeah mate but they all have old man cars now,,,4s !!
 
Need to catch up with you on the condenser - had an attempted regas last year and the condenser leaks like mad - garage in Oldham quoted £200 supplied and fitted - my local garage was unsure of it at that price though so havent followed it up - be interested to catch you one weekend.

(PS - can't believe you pulled out of the 911 !!)

I seem to remember saying previously that Z4's aren't a proper roadster, that they are for the old and weak.

Errrr, well........actually I think that maybe I was incorrect to say this and that actually........... a Z4 is a damn fine car (he says back-pedalling massively)...................:rolleyes:
