There are multiple reasons why an airbag error may get thrown on either side. What's the specific code/error?

:bashhead::bashhead::bashhead::bashhead::bashhead:...........exactly that......it seemed to be plugged in but I took it out and plugged in again....

Erased the fault code........and the light goes out now

After my Wife's 2.0 Z3 Facelift has been tucked away in the garage for 4 years and it 'was' a future project After tidying the garage down to nut, bolt, and screw level I looked at her Z3, and thought I'll just pop back to the forum and find some enthusiasm as its taking up space anyway and this thread has inspired me to actually crack on with it.

We were given a car by my parents and just didn't need the Z3 too. And whilst the Z3 passed an MOT etc I think after 150k (wife bought at 85k+), I think the running gear could do with replacing. SO seeing this progress thread helps recording the process taking a lot of research time out of it and prompted me to do it.

Things that need doing;

Renew/restore suspension - Shock/ springs/bushes
Thermostat
Aerial base
Cills
Lower front wings
Scrape to rear bumper
Spacers
Rear O/s wing dented
Wing mirror bases

I had to have a strut changed at a garage once and the mechanic said that they had to charge more than quoted as they priced for standard when in fact they realised it was 'M suspension' which I'm guessing is MTEC? What do I look at to confirm what suspension this car has as I'll need to order the right stuff?

Thanks in advance.

Handbrake needs readjusting.....I followed the instructions in Bentleys....or at least I thought I did...just have to do it all again and hopefully get it right this time.
Backwards and forwards a few times, pulling the handbrake while you're at it, that'll centralise the shoes, up on stands, wheels off, tighten the adjusters till the discs won't turn, then back the adjusters off till the wheels just turn freely, should only be a couple of clicks. All that should be done with the handbrake cable adjusters (on the back of the handbrake lever inside the car) slackened right off. Once the brakes are adjusted then you can tighten the cable adjusters up a bit until six or seven clicks on the lever stops the wheels turning. It may be a matter of actually driving it to make sure the shoes are bedded in a bit.

It just said 05, but sorted now Tony, as it was the connection under the seat that was the problem. Either not fully in or contact was dirty.

Well the Saga has ended.........

Sorted out the handbrake this morning ( and I will deny that I ever PM’d @t-tony yesterday to get advice on it :whistle:, and that I put an adjuster on backwards........:banghead:)

So quickly moving on......
Handbrake now fine, no fault codes, engine ran up to temperature and ticking over properly.
No exhaust leaks,

Just needs cleaning now .....( wonder if @andyglym would like a weekend in Butlins??????)

A big THANK YOU to everyone that has helped me through this refurb, (from physically replacing bushes at Zedshed HQ, to words of encouragement from the other side of the globe), as with out all of you, I could never have done this.

I think I can now drop the Novice status.....and move up to Trainee Apprentice :):).....

Hi @Mazza .... I have one here that could do with that level of love.... anytime you want to head to Western Australia. Fantastic job Mate... a real credit to you and I’d reckon you’d feel a level of self satisfaction in having done it yourself. :scorecard:
Just need the lockdown to end so you can get out and enjoy it.
