Please can I have some help

Treat them like you would an estate agent, hassle them every day. Eventually they'll get of their ar5es and do something just to get rid of you. I'd have to say I'm not impressed by their lack of doing the job, from their slowness of diagnosis to the failure to fix it, nine weeks to sort out a not particularly complicated engine seems a bit ridiculous.
But what would I know, having just spent most of my life being a mechanic? Time to find a garage that actually gives a sh1t.

I phoned my garage up today and asked politely what is happening with my Z4 , the owner said to tell you the truth Shelly I haven’t had time to look at it yet , I just said ok , I couldn’t say anything else as I was so annoyed, I phoned up a couple of local garages today , but I got a straight “ no “.I also phoned Halfords up to see if they could help , but was told they couldn’t do it either ( it was worth a try ).
Ive spoken to Allan about it , so tonight he’s going to look on the internet to see if he can find someone to do it , then he’s going to phone the garage up and say we’re going to pick the car up , on a low rider .
This is just a quick message as I’ve got my 4 year old granddaughter here 🌞
 
It may take done searching but you should find someone. Check to see there are any indy mechanics because someone like I use would be perfect for getting your car done @Shelly He’s rebuilt engines and has the kit.
I’m disappointed the garage didn’t see fit to be honest with you and let you know that its not interested in repairing your car. Their loss, @Shelly
 
I just feel like the garage have let me down badly, I thought a garage was a place where you took your car to be fixed , I’ve just looked on there website and it says cam belt / Timing belt replacement , and that’s what I need done, I think lol 😂

They should have been straight with you and told you they didn’t want or couldn’t do your Z @Shelly
These things happen for a reason though so far better you know now than the garage try to do the work and butcher your beautiful Z.

He should off said at the beginning, I’m sorry Shelly we don’t do this kind of work and I would of respected him more for telling me the truth 🙂
 
To be brutally honest @Shelly, complaining on here isn't going to get you anywhere. You should be complaining (in no uncertain terms) to the garage who have had your car for umpteen weeks and are no closer to fixing it.

I agree. Now he stands the very real possibility that you will never go back there and also, that you’ll tell people why.
I’ve had companies in the past take my Z to do work and only afterwards, has the work spoken for itself in that they weren’t experienced to do the work in the first place! It’s our Zs that suffer, not the unscrupulous companies who do shoddy, poor work and are only interested in taking our money. That is why here is so invaluable. We get to learn about our Zs so we know when someone is trying to rip us off.

And the cost of transporting it there. Months now and no progress. It’s truly dismal “customer service”.

My trusted indy is in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. He's hard to contact as he tends to be in the workshop with his team, and he is well known as a reliable knowledgeable BMW/Merc/Audi specialist. Not cheap, not rapid turnaround, but trustworthy. CPC Performance Phil Crouch
If trailering it is going to happen you could do a lot worse than this man.
 
There's a garage in Lowestoft that specialises in BMW and German marques, they might be worth giving a call.

BUT I have never used them personally, so it's not a recommendation, I'm just highlighting a garage within a reasonable distance that has probably seen one of these before!

They also used to do trailer hire, so possibly "2 birds..."

If it ends up back in your drive, I'm happy to pop over and stick my camera in the plug holes to confirm pistons are unmarked.

Could also possibly borrow Steve's Landy to tow a trailer if need be.
