Therein lies the problem: where to take the car which will be both experienced and trustworthy to do the work and look after the car. Women really are messed around with some of the motor trade as @Shelly knows and as do I. We need our friends here to help from time to time so come guys, first of all, do any of you on here have the experience and knowledge to identify the issues and then fix them, please?
 
Sure if it’s trailered to me. The cost will be huge. I’ve not kept up with this thread I’m assuming you’ve not tried another garage that specialises in either rebuilds or replacement engines. Many around.
 
T'was more in hope than anger Shelley. If your Z is on a trailer then the distance is less of a stumbling block. It's inconceivable that there's not an equivalent reliable place nearer you. The trick is finding one! Good Luck!

I phoned up BMW in Norwich on Monday 👍
But they haven’t even got back to me yet 🙁
It seams like they don’t want to touch it either and it’s there own car 😖
Alan has emailed a few companies on Wednesday and we’re waiting to hear back from them too🤞

They’ll be someone or some company that can help @Shelly I’ll ask Chris today and I’ll also ask Mark who is the indy mechanic that I use. Both are very good and may know someone over your way. I’ll let you know how I get on.

I’ve spoken with Mark and he says to get someone from here with a code reader to see if it will identify what the problem is.
He doesn’t know anyone over your way that he can signpost you to, unfortunately, but he says you must have a diagnostic done to determine what’s the matter. Is there anyone on here that can help @Shelly please?
He’s said how odd it is that the garage has had your beautiful Z all this time and not identified what the problem is.
I’ll ask Chris next and get back to you.
 
Shelly - quick search throws up GC Motorworks, they ar in Bungay , so not sure how far thats from you. they do engine rebuilds - BMW and mini specialists - might be worth a call at least :cool:

Hi Shelly sorry to read about your zed problems.
Again this is not a recommendation as i am obviously in Scotland
But i see these guys on YouTube all the time doing timing chains wet belts ( post a lot of their stuff on YouTube doing some majorwork )

The person who Allan spoke too , is now on his way to Norwich, he said to Alan to text him what is wrong with my Z and he said he’d get back to us .🌞

I follow these guys too and they do seem very knowledgeable and professional, they also have a BMW guru on staff.
