Well, I have been working on the zed quite a lot recently. You might have seen a few of my threads moaning about everything going wrong, but im finally making progress and its going well.
I have got a fitting kit and hardtop in Boston green which are damn hard to come by in my colour, ive only seen the one i bought. All for a pretty good price, im £650 all in, including the switch, and wire and the mount covers.
I removed the diff the other day, was a complete PITA to remove because of the rusted bolts, but i got there in the end and i took her to the diff bloke. Hes a trade guy, so he really knows what hes doing and shouldn't be too pricey as he usually just works for garages. Fingers crossed he can fix my backlash issue or replace the diff with a decent one. He said, if he remembers correctly a model of the Z4 uses the same gears inside. but i suppose he will only know once hes had a look.
(anyone ever need a transmission/ diff guy, message my and ill give you his details) you might want a peg when you go into his workshop though, smells like cat p**s city in there (diff oil smells really bad)
with reference to the wiring to the hard top, it was really easy. all of my wiring was where it should be ... I just followed this guys guide http://www.waycoolinc.com/z3/essentials/fixit/hardtopinstall/hardtop.html and had the instructions by my side. ill be fitting the hard top soon as its pretty damn chilly at the min!
