I think we should complain for her allowing people to park in the passing placesIs she liable for any damage occurring on her part of the road as it's pretty ropey in some parts
Well,i don't know what you meanI think we should complain for her allowing people to park in the passing places
Back to the Ford at World's End....
We found out why it's called World's End.
While doing some photos at the crossing we had the opportunity to meet the landowner as she drove down the road. One of the Zeds was parked nicely blocking the road at the time just while we did some snaps - hadn't seen another car in 30 minutes. A fact which I suspect didn't help the mood.
She let us know in no uncertain terms that she would sue us if we published any photos taken on her land (even though we don't recall seeing a notice saying it was a private road). I'm not making any money from the images which is the normal test, but the term 'published' was used with some vigour.
I do have a number of great images of @Bozzy and @Low Rider cars in and crossing the stream, I've opted to not show them until I've established what the legal situation is regarding the ownership of the road. I'll share them with them directly.
So, the reason it's called World's End is - nice as it is, it seems that its the last place on earth where cameras are allowed. None have ever made it there and returned safely!
A great advert to bring money into the area. I'll keep mine in my pocket thank you. Nice welcome. Comes just behind getting a parking ticket at 06:05 on a Sunday morning on the sea front on Llandudno.
A real shame because it is a cracking road down through the forest and then over the moorland (getting on for 10 miles I guess).
Think you are right. I'll phone the police now to see if anyone is missing a resident.WHAT?, think you run in to a looney,
God i wish you were there today you could of imparted that info to her.....and then we'd of stood back and watched the fire worksWHAT?, think you run in to a looney, that road is a public road and always has been, the land around it belongs to the forestry commission, and is strewn with walks and public footpaths. Wish I was with you
World's End (Welsh: Pen Draw'r Byd) (grid reference SJ232477) is a narrow vale located between Wrexham and Llangollen in Denbighshire, Wales. It lies at the head of the Eglwyseg Valley, enclosed by the cliffs of Craig y Forwyn, Craig y Cythraul, and Craig yr Adar.
The area is very popular with walkers, cyclists and tourists and provides spectacular scenery at all times of the year.[1] The Offa's Dyke Path passes through World's End.
World's End lies on a single track road from the small village of Minera near Wrexham, which crosses Esclusham Mountain and the Ruabon Moors to a public car park at the top of the Eglwyseg valley. The road crosses the Eglwyseg River by a ford,[2] then goes on towards Pentre Dŵr, under the Horseshoe Pass, leading eventually to Llangollen or onto the Panorama in Trevor.
Near World’s End is the manor house Plas Ucha yn Eglwyseg, built in 1563. It was for a time the home of John Jones, Maesygarnedd, one of the signatories of the death warrant for Charles I of England.[3] The building is said to stand on the site of a hunting lodge of Owain ap Cadwgan, prince of Powys, whither Owain carried Nest (daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr) when he stole her away from her husband Gerald de Windsor in 1109.
There are a number of small limekilns at World's End, probably dating from the later 18th- or early 19th-century, and there are also traces of a short-lived lead and silver mine in operation between the 1860s and 1880s.[4]
