Back to the Ford at World's End....
We found out why it's called World's End.
While doing some photos at the crossing we had the opportunity to meet the landowner as she drove down the road. One of the Zeds was parked nicely blocking the road at the time just while we did some snaps - hadn't seen another car in 30 minutes. A fact which I suspect didn't help the mood.
She let us know in no uncertain terms that she would sue us if we published any photos taken on her land (even though we don't recall seeing a notice saying it was a private road). I'm not making any money from the images which is the normal test, but the term 'published' was used with some vigour.
I do have a number of great images of @Bozzy and @Low Rider cars in and crossing the stream, I've opted to not show them until I've established what the legal situation is regarding the ownership of the road. I'll share them with them directly.
Yes what a lovely welcoming old troll she was......she needs to get back under her bridge and stay there !
So, the reason it's called World's End is - nice as it is, it seems that its the last place on earth where cameras are allowed. None have ever made it there and returned safely!
A great advert to bring money into the area. I'll keep mine in my pocket thank you. Nice welcome. Comes just behind getting a parking ticket at 06:05 on a Sunday morning on the sea front on Llandudno.
A real shame because it is a cracking road down through the forest and then over the moorland (getting on for 10 miles I guess).
I was relieved that my camera was in the boot with a dead battery" So, the reason it's called World's End is - it seems that its the last place on earth where cameras are allowed "
I wonder where "We'll keep a welcome in the hillsides..." went?I was relieved that my camera was in the boot with a dead battery
I think we should organize a mass photo shoot on "her" bridge with every .org member available each armed with a camera and have the pictures put in her local news paperI wonder where "We'll keep a welcome in the hillsides..." went?
It is on Google Streetmaps which would indicate it's a public road. There is no Private Road sign at the junction at the Llangollen end of the road although Google Streetview doesn't cover it which indicates it is indeed private. Am just searching from the other end of the track.
Oooo so we could have a mass photo shoot there....legallyIt is on Google Streetmaps which would indicate it's a public road.
