@Bozzy do some big stops from high speeds. Get some heat into them. They will smoke alot to begin with. I had those brakes on my Z3M and couldn't fault them. Give them a little while.

Another point, changed the brake fluid recently? Pedal firm?

Good point re the brake fluid @Lee , I did my brothers X type a couple of weeks ago and he couldn't believe the difference it made. I changed mine last February when I painted the callipers etc. happy I did as I had to make the old lass stop a bit quick this afternoon.;)

Hi Lee
Yes fluid changed 5k miles ago about Feb/March,firm pedal as well.
Had them smoking yesterday but i think that was the paint burning off
BUT TODAY there is a definite improvement it's like they're slowly coming alive :) done about 100 miles on them now so looks like they'll keep improving as I drive.

Hope you get them sorted @Bozzy.
I needed mine yesterday. Had to stand the LR on its nose when some dork on his way to the Challenge Cup final (the flags were the giveaway) decided to just pull out into lane 3 on the M1. Was just passing and level with his rear door and his steering wheel operated indicators came on and he just swerved into my path. I wasn't impressed and he had the audacity to remonstrate with me
Do your new pads fit ok - they're not fouling any lip on your discs at all?
Sounds like you need to really work them hard to bed them in. Some long and hard high speed stops but don't do it on the A38

I will have to insult, sorry, consult !, the headmistress then ;) We have been busy since we got back from double checking the mileages on the directions and have 30 laminated copies, one for each car plus a couple of spare ones.

Thanks @Redline they are improving, had a drive to Belper today to pick up a speaker and cover from @Ontiken1 and then onto Crich,Lea and cromford area then back home. Had a full tank of fuel and Sara came with me and she didn't panic once while braking so they can't be so bad.
Sounds like you had a very miss Ian,just can't believe how some people drive, paying no attention to there mirrors and anything around them.
