Interesting read, @t-tony I hope you get everything sorted - ahead of ZedShed!A little maintenance job this morning after filling the washer bottle yesterday and watching a large pool of water growing on the ground!. It stopped leaking below the level of the headlight washer pump telling me that it was indeed the headlight washer system was where the problem lay. (in case you didn't know the headlight washer pick up on any car is above the windscreen washer pick up level so that you will still have windscreen washers after the headlight washer stops).
Anyway o/s/f jacked up and headlight and fog light panels removed from the wheel arch liner revealed the headlight washer pipe disconnected at the "Tee" piece below the headlight. Replaced the connector and made sure it firmly "clicked" into place.
The car has been dropping a small amount of water for a while so on Monday this week I had it up on stands to try to discover where it was coming from. Under tray removed and thorough cleaner with the remaining Cif cleaner. Bottom of radiator bone dry and nothing showing on the front of the motor?
Ran it up to normal temp. but nothing showing, so replaced the tray and top cover and went for a 6 mile road test. Got home and left to stand and after a while a small amount of water showed below the crank pulley and leaking through the hole in the tray. I'm suspecting either the water pump or T/stat housing is the culprit so will replace both. Meyle pump (2 year warranty) £23 and alloy t/stat housing complete with temp. switch (2 year warranty) for £27. Ordered and jobs for next week.
I think that some of the dropped liquid was coming from the headlight washer pipe and having used the headlight washers last Sunday (the first time for many months) and noticing the w/washer bottle was empty I realised I probably had 2 faults.

@t-tony Tony, when you did the painted pads did you use copper grease (Anti squeal) on them? While the waiting was going on, on the brake upgrade I turned my mind to induction. I found a nice Ramair system on eBay which was on a Black Friday " Make me an offer" deal so I did, would've been rude not to, and then this arrived.

Another satisfactory Saturday afternoon's work.
So there we were waiting for the brakes bits and then ............................................ , View attachment 50008

These new discs were treated to a couple of coats of paint to hopefully keep them looking like the day they were fitted.

Pads were ordered and asked for as the rear ones were a Christmas present, these are what I used for front and rear brakes.View attachment 50010
However they did look a little different by the time they were fitted.

The brakes discs and pads were eventually fitted along with some calliper decals. These are the finished articles. I was happy to see that the parking brake shoes were in good order.

Really happy with the way these now look but most importantly by how they now work, much better brakes. I guess that's it for now.

Good luck @t-tony ! I’d better find a MOT place for mine, too. Have you got the airbag warning light sorted?MOT booked this afternoon, for Saturday 21st. 11.00.
