Early start, wheels off car now on Axle stands, Quick blast with the hose before giving the arches and suspension a good scrub, not looking too bad.

What a pleasure to be able to work outside in the dry and mild weather.
Really good session, All discs removed, backs took some getting off, but nothing a persuader couldn't cope with. Back plates really in good condition, must have been changed prior to me getting the car, painted gloss black along with Calipers and Brackets. Had a good look at the rear shoes seem good but need to have a go at setting the Handbrake as could do with being a bit more efficient. Another coat on the calipers then time to build it all back up.

Sure has been a gorgeous day for outdoor work today Paul. Looking good on the brakes mate. I would adjust the parking brake shoes before fitting the callipers as you only have to assess parking brake bind as you adjust the shoes and not the pads dragging on the disc.

So I went for a ride at lunchtime to give prior warning of a Shed load of these on the 25th.

Another great day in the the great outdoors. Managed to build up the new discs and pads, Re adjusted the Handbrake and swapped over the seals and siliconed the headlamp back covers to try to stop water ingress. Really pleased with the new brakes, well how they look not tried to see if they stop the car or not (minor detail). Wheels next just a detail whilst they are off and must remember to line the Centre caps (M) with the valve cover.

Hi Paul,
I'm sure there is a good reason for leaving those unpainted stripes where the wheel bolts go thru, but why ?

Hi Paul,
I'm sure there is a good reason for leaving those unpainted stripes where the wheel bose parts are lts go thru, but why ?
Didn't want paint on the threads and as those sections fit flush to the wheel not subject to rusting/weather

I isn't a good idea to paint the surfaces where wheels contact the hub/disc face as it can result in the wheels becoming loose. When I did mine I did this,

Well that's the wheel arches done. Painted some suspension bits and detailed the inner arches today.
Only job left is the wheels. Clay bar inner's and seal, give them a good seal all round and tyre dress.
After all this going to take it out and get it mucky :racecar:
