Having wheels refurbished this week but don't know what colour to do it. Any ideas Paul?
I was intent on Silver but guy who did them talked me into Shadow grey. Glad i did but certainly wouldn't want them any darker. Mine has quite a colour flake when the sun hits them something they "throw in the paint" (Technical term) before spraying.

Thanks Paul. I was tempted to go for black but after what you said I think I will stick with silver of some kind.

Did you get your calipers done? Thinking of silver wheels and shiny black calipers. Would that look ok do you think?

I went for red calipers with white decals although i now have the decal on the black brake pad clip.
Black caliper with silver clip and black bmw decal would look good IMO

New clutch and flywheel fitted, felt something not right for a while. Clutch plate and Flywheel at life's end so essential maintenance.
Wallets taken a hit but worth it. Not sure if my imagination or just wishful thinking but it seems to pull better?

You said this time last year when Jim was over here that you thought it was going Paul, but you've coaxed another year out of it mate. Pick up likely to be better as with the old clutch there would have been a tiny bit of "slip" on each gear change.

Its definitely quicker off the mark. First good run out, roof down naturally. Biggest difference when you hit 3000 rpm. Instead of slipping and going know where the speed just keeps rising, Need to keep an eye on the speedo a bit more. Spotted a black Z4 heading towards Doncaster from Hatfield and got a wave. Got used to it in the Z3 but unusual in the Z4.

Wheel re furb.JPG
Wheel back fully re-furbed and pram wheels replaced. As the car will be Sorn'd over the winter will be putting the 16" wheels back on at the end of the month. now the wheels back on and looking fine, paintwork beckons.

Car booked in for paint, well loosely, to be done sometime over the next 4 months during its winter rest period. Have a list of winter jobs to do also, including brake caliper paint a more subtle black with grey Z4 badging, Seats and door cards prepped and dyed keeping with the Factory red. Also removing induction kit and fitting air box back on for that standard look.

Had the call! Car going in next week for paint. Not the best weather for a newly painted car to be left outside but think i read somewhere shouldn't put a car cover on fresh paint? Any ideas @Sean d

I definitely wouldn't use a cover for the first few weeks pal, even on cured paint I would only use a hood cover as a full cover will cause lots of damage
