Davy in your 2nd picture if you moved the indicator stalk left or right a plastic peg sticks out towards the column, on the piece on the column there's a lug which when turned by the steering wheel flicks the plastic peg and cancels the indicator. If you take it apart you'll see how it works easily enough mate.

The soft top will look well with the new window - how will you protect the window from creasing?

I'm not quite sure, I will fit it on a hot day and let the sun warm it up before I try and put it down. Then maybe let it stay down for a few weeks to form the crease in the right place. Once it's all sorted I use the rear window cover and a thick foam pipe to keep it from scratching or bending too much when it goes down.
The mrs normally guides it down.

Removed the rusted half leftover exhaust bracket today, it's already stopped rattling so that's definately the cause. I wont be driving it till the new one is fitted and ive emailed sopers about the parts. Fingers crossed I get them this week!

Car looks great Davy. Your a brave man having a go with the window fitting, good luck to you with that one. I do like your storage system for hard top, clever stuff.

If anyone gets their car failed due to that bracket broken or missing ask for an appeal form and contact the DVSA. An advisory at best.

Tony.
