Just when I thought it was finished!

I can emphathise with trying to run it daily and keep on top of things, hats off to you for doing so!

If you get a little runaround to use in winter/when you working on the Z, it it eases the pressure to get all done and running for Monday mornings, also makes no it more special to get back into.

To me yours really is a show car and the fact that’s it’s daily is impressive!
I don't think it will ever be finished, there's always something to do. That's one of the reasons I started to hate it a few months back, it's never ending. But then I could get something newer and it would just be a car and not a hobby. I would love a little runaround for winter but saving for a house a the moment and if I was to buy another car it wouldn't be worth living =)) and I think I'd be putting in an insurance claim on the zed for vandalism! I've dropped little hints that it would be easier and more economical if I had a little runaround but it doesn't seem to go down that well.

Ps doesn’t your father have an old Z3 you can knock about in to work with ;)
That thing wouldn't get me to work

You’ve suppased on how I’m feeling about my ///M but threads like this keep me positive on one day I will get mine back on the road.

I like the spoiler lip in the matching colour. I suppose you could get another for the spare bumper in black and swap bumpers around as you feel and treat the pesky stone chips.

How did you plumb in the oil pressure gauge? What are those two plastic items with the OBC?
I prefer it in silver but then I've added a few black parts recently and think it ties in with them when it's black. It will stay silver for a while now, I'll probably have the whole bumper and lip painted soon I've had the money saved to do it for a while now.

I have a adaptor on top of the oil filter housing which has room for 2 temperature sensors, I have a sensor in one for the temp and a pressure sender in the other for the pressure. Oil temp isn't reading right at the moment but I'll change the sensor on the next oil change, the gauge is actually designed for water temp so that could be something to do with it. The two things above the OBC are remotes for the garage.

Just go out and buy one.

It is better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission ;)

I have a spare lambchop in the fridge, but the cat is after this one.....

so is a lambbhuna any good?
I'll just get a de-cat pipe then. Besides if I have a lamb bhuna my arse will end up like your car, sounding like a wet fart and a load of sloppy sh*** coming out of it.

Now in winter mode, hardtop and winter wheels / tyres on.

Lambda error keeps popping up, but chasing a cold idle problem at the moment. Will detail this in another thread.

There's a few jobs to do over the winter, DRL's have given in apart from 1. I bought a different set after breaking some of the first lot and they must be a different type as all have failed, the one that is still working is an original so I need to get some more from this seller if I can find them again. The doorcard insert has come loose on the passenger side and one of the door tweeters has fallen off on the drivers side. My headlights also need taking off an sealing better as the don't like damp weather and steam up. And I've still got a very annoying intermittent whining noise coming from the rear drivers side.

I have changed the reverse light bulbs for some LED ones and they are extremely bright. I tried them in the tail, fog and brake lights but the originals were actually brighter, I will probably do all the indicators at some stage.

I'll be doing an oil service soon and changing the filter housing gasket along with the 2 all important small O rings that fit on the bottom of the filter housing. Does anybody actually change these though?! As in Mike Fishwick's article on doing an oil change he stresses that they are a vital part of the process for all cars at every oil change. Funny thing is I ordered some from BMW and they didn't have any in stock. They are listed on a load of cars and if they should be changed every time then BMW mustn't be doing their services correctly if they don't have them readily available on the shelf? I've never changed them in the past on any of my BMW's and never had any problems. Does anyone change these at every service?
