I'll let you have a passenger ride first to make sure it is what you want. I've gone deliberately loud, and accept that under certain circumstances it can be a bit boomy. That said, it's nowhere near the the droning noise my Eisenmann system produced and seems a good all round system - if loud!
Glad you are happy with your new system. I'm actually getting more used to mine.

Does yours pop and crackle when you lift off? and if you only very very slightly touch the accelerator is there a spot where the exhaust makes no noise whatsoever?

mine does, so just though id a ask a fellow Longlife Exhaust owner :D

Connor.

You need to get a sports cat on that now Connor, when I had it fitted they got the sound right first go, did not want it droning, so when your just cruzing it makes very little noise, and once you open the tap it sounds great, Going down hill if you just touch the throttle it pops and burbles really loudly.

I need to speak to longlife. I was reading the T's & C's of the warranty the other day, and apparently for the warranty to pass over to the new owner the car has to be taken to a longlife centre for inspection and a transfer fee has to be paid.

I dont mind about this but a nit naughty of them hiding this in the smallprint.

Didn't you mention longlife quoting you around £140 for the sports cat fitted?

I asked if he could do quad, but he said there wasn't enough room to squeeze the second back box in - even though my spare wheel and carrier were removed long ago. I think it would have to be done the way Eisenmann do it, like this.

I have one done like that and there is a great sound from the System, more so with the soft top up/down and slightly quieter when the hardtop is on. :racecar:

Have you got the sports cat?
I have 2 cats which are attached to the manifolds which are standard. From there I have straight pipes back to a sport back box. Was expecting way more drone and boom than I have for sure...

Looks like they got the sound just right, Gary, can't wait to hear the real sound.

I just played that clip through my car audio with the sub, sounds awesome, looking forward to hearing it on Sunday.

We should line up all the cars with improved exhausts make a 'music' video while we at Santa Pod, doubt anybody will complain about the 'noise' over there!

Hi @DavidM , could you please confirm exactly which system you have. I'd like to run a true dual exhaust or at least the Eisenmman system. Is that what you have.? JIM

Yes, Jim, I bought the car with the Eisenmman system already fitted.

After hearing yours I was planning to get a longlife exhaust with a y piece instead of a centre box but I've needed other essential things so its been put of for a while.

The pictures are out of date, that was the first fitting. It went back on the ramps twice more to get the right sound. I didn't get chance to take final photos, but will next time I have it off the ground.

It's basically straight pipes from the front cats, and a token back box...

Get a nice sounding one, makes the car for me, glorious engines these.
I had a long life on a Honda Prelude VTI and when I found too loud after a week they added an extra box at no extra cost. They have nice tailpieces too.

It always hurts when having to spend money but when fixing something presents a chance to upgrade and see/feel the difference at least it's satisfying. Exhaust rates right up there for satisfaction (unlike cooling system stuff that just sits there under the bonnet, yes very important but not as much fun to had from upgrading a water pump!)
hey another ex lude driver:thumbsup:

Not really, but Long Life will change it as many times as you ask them to! Mine went up on the ramps 3 times before I was happy.
