Hi
What do I need to do to ensure a ticket to this event? I have registered with the forum and have followed the link to the tickets at Silverstone (http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/buytickets) and they are suggesting that I need a registration number to be registered. Is this via you? My Zed is a Z4 2.3i S Drive. Do you need my reg number?
Cheers Rik

Thanks Snoops. Have booked but Silverstone site just a tad flakey! No confirmation yet. Hope I make the parade this year. I tried last year in an MX5 and failed. Better luck this year in my Zed?

As long as what you bought had ADVANCE CCM PACKAGE (2XENTRY+V/PASS) in the description you should be fine!

You could well be the last registered for the event. We will keep an eye out for you at the back =)) Nah seriously though, you will come and join in the biggest Z3 convoy off the track to get to the track!!

Guys and Gals

I am modifying this post to indicate that I have received communication that the instruction for us to contact our insurers was not what was intended! It was the fact that someone had been surprised that some insurance companies do not support attendance at Shows in their policies and that if you are concerned about your level of cover it might be worth a call to your insurance company to make sure! It was my unfortunate interpretation of what was said that made me see it as an instruction for us to contact our insurance companies.

Regards and apologies!

Duncan

I got an email this morning and in the post I got the tickets for the first car. The second tickets have not arrived and I have not had a second email so I have no Idea if I will get another email and delivery or if I should go investigating!

hey ho!

Duncan

no email yet,

how long should we leave it before chasing it up.

should we be concerned about event insurance,

this may, will effect the parade lap.

can't take the chance of being rear ended by someone (swamper :ymdevil: )

There was a response to my post this morning. Below is the response which I believe is how it should have been worded last night!

Please do not misunderstand the statement!

The club is not requesting that you have insurance, we are simply stating that it is your responsibility to check that you are covered should you want to.

The club has never covered events but the situation regarding individuals insurance cover and shows was recently brought to our attention by one of the insurance companies.

I say again, we are not saying that you have to have or prove that you have insurance, it is your responsibility.

Darren.
I have removed my inference of instruction as it was not what was intended by the original post.

I knew because of the fact that I do track days that the parade lap on the track would mean that for the time we were on the track we are not insured! On track days if someone spins and hits you they are responsible for their car and you are responsible for fixing the damage to your car. You can get track insurance and it covers you for fixing your own car. For me it would have cost £25 per £1000 of cover. But I decided not to bother and for the parade lap I just do not think people will be daft so was not bothered.

I have edited this post as a result of my misinterpretation of the original post as identified to me via PM

Duncan,

This is a can of worms!

Everyone should check with their insurance providers.

I would expect a policy to cover a vehicle off road but not on a track?

I cant see all the fuss its probably safer parking and driving IN silverstone then it is in Waitrose car park, just go and enjoy it. :coolsteer) If you have a scrape you can say you did it at horwood house ;)

Agreed, I think those in Silverstone will be much more likely to take great care of their pride and joy than those white vans that park up next to you in the supermarket. The parade lap is just that, it's not a track day and so it should be a sensible run round the track.

I wouldnt imagine people looking at the cars will run their keys down them either
