Jeez! I've been to a few of these kind of events with my old MX5 and never considered that parking in a car park, off the racing track, but inside the circuit as being such a risky thing to do. :-o I just never thought about it and had not thought about it until all this stuff above in the last few hours. You don't have to tell your insurance company if you go to see an F1 race and park in the circuit car park, do you?! Course you don't! :-\ I signed up at the last minute to the ZedFest as you can see. I am beginning to think I should have not done so!! :-s :-s

First welcome and the event if going to be awesome. As someone has posted elsewhere if you park in a supermarket car park you have the same problem as it is private property. It is why people get so annoyed about supermarket trolly scrapes. At least here we are all showing our cars and are all proud of them so the risks are so much lower than going shopping. I took a take on a post (which I have been assured was not what was meant) and so I went off on one and have withdrawn my objections.

You will have a great time!

Regards

Duncan

If this helps all the nervous drivers --BMWCC of GB & Ireland have a £10 million cover for liability at the silverstone and any other car show they run so for gods sake forget about it :coolsteer)

If anyone want's a spare ticket and or a spare seat to get into the event I have one, I had forgotten part of the special offer was a free extra ticket and as I am going down on my own the offer is there to anyone who want's it. :)

someone asked for more information on how the cars are being split up into family groups and I have had a PM back which identifies that the Zeds will be in six groups which I take to mean Z1, Z3, Z4, Z8, Zcoupes and Z"M"'s (which means that the Z"M"'s are not being further split into groups) from the context of the email I have received from John Safe who is co-ordinating on site. the actual text of the PM is "We have to sort-direct-clear Six Z types to their specific areas----+13 other Model groups."

Got another e mail about what's going on - I'll post it for anyone who doesn't know...

Walking In The Air
Away from the track and far above the vast in-field displays, we are presenting an air show spectacle over the festival weekend that will take your breath away.

Breitling Wing Walkers
Wing Walking has been popular since the 1920s with dare-devil feats of acrobatics and nerves of steel from the walkers. The Breitling Wing Walkers have developed this entertainment to the present day with the sensational display presented over the circuit. There are glamorous female wing walkers in fast bi-planes doing routines that defy physics.

The Parachute Regiment, The Red Devils free-fall display team
A classic Red Devils parachute display will see up to six team members jumping from an altitude of up to 10,000ft. Trailing smoke to demonstrate their speed and movement, the highly-skilled skydivers will free-fall at speeds of up to 120mph, before deploying their parachutes. Once safely under canopy, team members will demonstrate breathtaking, high-speed “Swoop” landings and spectacular “Canopy Formations” – both unique to parachute displays in the UK.

Hot Air Balloons
Each morning and evening; there will be a mass ascent of hot air balloons. If you have never seen this it is an impressive site. The sheer size and colour of all the balloons gliding up is amazing.
