The insurers only covers your vehicle if it is being used in the way specified in your certificate of motor insurance or endorsement.
The following uses are not covered:-
Using your vehicle on any race track or circuit other than accidents to which the road traffic act applies.

Will we need to advise our insurers when we pay to park in the Cricket ground car park, in case a ball may hit our car---Or at an Aircraft display at a base.We are NOT taking part as a Competitor at Silverstone, but Parking in a designated PUBLIC car park area.
The display lap is a NON competitive "PARADE"around a Closed Private circuit, Controlled and led by BRDC Marshalls with 60 years experience in this proceedure, having done the same Hundeds of times.
I have arranged for a number of VERY valuable Classic Cars and Motorcycles--which are priceless to Their owners, to display for everyones enjoyment over three days------All owners are well aware of the location and have not advised me of any concerns.

they will try and bail out on every occasion!bobandshar said:I agree with what you say, but Silverstone on the whole is classed as a circuit, could this be a clause for insurances to bail out.
Nevertheless we are coming regardless.
nice like the addition, people have missed that change!HornelZ3M said:Snoops said:Below is an extract from the response to Dunc on the BMWCCGB forum

dont worry about it, and welcome by the way.jaberwocky said:Jeez! I've been to a few of these kind of events with my old MX5 and never considered that parking in a car park, off the racing track, but inside the circuit as being such a risky thing to do. :-o I just never thought about it and had not thought about it until all this stuff above in the last few hours. You don't have to tell your insurance company if you go to see an F1 race and park in the circuit car park, do you?! Course you don't! :-\ I signed up at the last minute to the ZedFest as you can see. I am beginning to think I should have not done so!! :-s :-s
