with white your better off going for a sealant. Looks allmost identical to wax but has better self cleaning properties so it will look cleaner and shinier for longer. I'd also give up with the SRP, its designed to mask light swirling but as your paints brand new it wont be doing much if anything.

regards the applicator v hands it depends on the wax. Zymol waxes advise to spread by hand because its not technically a wax and needs some heat to get going. Oily waxes are easier by hand as they just melt and can be rubbed in whereas hard waxes (like the dodojuice range) are easier by applicator. When it boils down to it personal choice prevails.

Congratulations on buidling a great car and writing such a good thread, loads of good info. I've never been a fan of white cars but it has to be said that yours looks stunning in this colour. It must be nice to know that all the hard work has paid of.

It has been said already and I have to agree, this has to be one of the best Z3's out there.

You know what it is? White is back in fashion but does not suit every car but looks fantastic on the Z3.

Have never seen one on the road before.

Let the fun commence! Just bought this little beaut which I'll be mounting on the zed along with an m50 manifold so hoping to see some nice gains. Any advice on things needed would be great. It's from a merc clk230 and is an eaton m62 blower. I'm wanting to try it on the standard engine running low boost. I've heard of another one that's been done and the alloy block seems to cope. I think the mercs run about 6-8psi from what I can gather.

Things I can think of I need are:

Merc crank pulley modified to fit.
Vacuum/pressure switch for electromagnetic clutch
Tensioner wheel
Intercooler
Pipe work
Ecu remap or stand alone? Advice please?
Fuel pressure regulator?
Injectors possible?
As said this is my winter project so any advice help would be great. Thanks Daz

Well Daz, you certainly are a glutton for punishment, If I had done it, I'd want at least a year driving round town looking in shop windows at my reflection. But now you want to fit a supercharger. I can hardly wait to read the next instalment. Well done.
I was really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh this year!

Sorry mike I did have a good few days driving round posing but on every single event day ie zedfest I had a wedding and the Santa pod one I wanted to go too I ended up driving a tank on a track day which was different :D So with a bit of luck next year I'll have the charger installed and all the subframes, wishbones, trailing arms etc shot blasted and powder coated with all new ball joints and poly bushes.

Done a bit more stripping down today. Removed air con system and got the power steering pulley off ready for the charger drive pulley.

I've now got the merc drive pulley for the charger which I'll be modifying to fit the power steering pump. Although when I held it next to the oe pump pulley the inner pulley on the merc pulley which I was going to machine off is nearly the same diameter of the oe pas pulley. So what I'm wondering is would the inner pulley on the merc one do my zeds power steering as well with it being about 5mm larger in diameter? I know this will make the pump spin slightly slower I'll have to work out the ratios when I can measure it more accurately. Will this affect the steering too much or not?

Oe pulley in my hand vs merc pulley which will be cut down to the side of the small pulley.

Got a bit of work done on the pulleys. I've converted the electromagnetic clutch by drilling and tapping some holes to make it direct drive. Also the lower pulley which is going to drive the PAS and supercharger has had the harmonic balancer removed and been machined down. I now just have to make a new plate for the centre so it's the right offset to marry upto the existing pulley mount.
Charger with pulley converted to direct drive

Harmonic balancer removed

Pulley machined down

Pulley centre to replicate for PAS pump
