Got the hardtop sprayed this weekend due to a slight problem. I had re-dyed the roof and planned to put a new rear window in however when I removed the old window I found the zip is knackered so I'll be getting a new hood at some point. If anyone wants to buy a zip in rear window drop me a pm ;)
I'm planning on getting the car MOT'd this week so we'll finally be on the road whoop whoop :coolsteer)
Next thing on the list is to spray the wheel centres graphite but not till next year.

That looks amazing, I love the the graphite hardtop. Glad you took my advice =))

Went for MOT this morning and passed with no probs whoop whoop! Finally the work has paid off and just a thanks to Bob and Sharon for lending me there airbag reset tool, and thanks to everyone else for the help and comments you've given me along the way although its not finished yet! Now just need a few coats of wax before the weather gets too bad!

Really pleased for you it looks really special, and passed the MOT 1st time after all the work you have done.

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh sometime.

Good stuff daz, enjoy it, even in the winter,

I'd get 3 coats of a good wax on if you can.

Thanks guys! I will be enjoying it badman I was thinking of getting some AG HD as I said in liams thread what do you apply and buff off your wax with? I've just given it a coat of AG SRP using meguiars applicator pad and buffed with them white polishing cloths from halfords the smooth type. Do you apply wax in the same way? Cheers

Hello sir,

The ag hd wax is good stuff, very durable (great for autum/winter)

I would wash and dry your car, dry with a large microfiber drying towel.

This helps prevent scratches.

Your paintwork is new so you could skip the clay stage.

If you do clay get a very soft one.

After clay wash and dry again, and then apply a prewax cleaner to prepare the surface for wax.

You could use srp if you have some.

Then get 3 coats of hd on over a 2 day period, leaving 12 to 16 hours between coats.

Id get your products from a place on the web (cleanyourcar)

I get most of mine from there and they are excellent.

And more questions pm mate.

Great news Daz :D

With the AG HD Wax you get two applicator pads. they need to be damp and then apply the wax like this..

Polish first then the wax :)

Make sure you use the provided microfiber to buff off and also buy some more ;)

It's ok to use the hands, but an applicator is better. Plus we don't know where yours have been Wayne.

disagree Mark...you cant feel grit with an applicator plus the heat off your hands gets the wax in swirls better...having said that Daz wont have any swirls as its new paint ;)

ok but you should use a fresh applicator and keep it clean.

I've never had an issue.

and he might have swirls!
